im gunna get the 4 inch cowl hood off of summit i wanna see pics of them on our 3rd gen's

do a search cause i asked this question before and 2 people replied and most will say that 4" cowls are to big and dont fit the lines of the car or something. But my 4" glasstek cowl hood fits the lines great and it fit great and looks great sorry but no pics yet. But one thing I will have ot agree with them on is if you are sticking one of these on a car without the need for it. My car needs it cause my aircleaner clears a 1/2" with the 4" cowl hood so I needed it. But if you need a 3" or 4" I would select the 4" cause it gives it an aggressive look. Its just alittle bit of a PITA trying to see over if your short like me 5'7".

There were just a few spots that needed work pretty much one at each corner where a skimming of filler was needed to perfect it.
HArwood will always be getting my business

that yellow car looks surprisingly like a friend of mine's trans am from IN. got anymore pics of it??? looks real similar to a kid who has a LS1 in his motor and is off the chicago board. Interesting how you both have the exact same windshield banner too.
got any more proof or is this nick finally posting up?

Sorry about the long reply time crazy. Teh hoods fit and finish was awesome, there were a few minor flaws in the hood but minor in fact i didnt even really see any it was the painter and body guy that pointed them out, It was a direct bolt on the only thing is the little metal bar that is on the hood that catches in the primary latch was flat and the stock one had a little decent curve so i had to put teh stock deal back on, everything else bolted directly to the hood though, no hood pins are needed which i like and i get no flutter in the corners, and i've had it up to 110+ and still no movenent out of it, The trimming is on teh edges where it turns down on the sides you need to cut teh edges down so it will sit all the way in the channel, the trimming takes some time but isnt all that bad at all, and if you screw up when the hood is closed you wont even see anything. I definately recommend it fo rthe price it was definatly worth it mine came to 588 and that was shipped to colorado in 7 days. if you got any questions let me know and that is a 4" with the finished underside.

Hey lookin' nice guys. I was dead set on an SS hood, I love the look, but it looks like I'll be getting a cowl. Don't get me wrong, the cowl's look great but I'm in love with the SS's.
I'm rebuilding a 350 for a blower, either camden or vortech, and will need mucho hood clearance. Plus it will look cool so hopefully 4" will work for me

Had no problems with mine except for a slight fitment issue in the front.Originally posted by crazy3rdgen
