My wheels, which do you like better?

I just recieved my two other tires for my set of four 17" early C5 wheels (staggered on thirdgen = no... Thanks for the trade Jeremy!), so they'll be going on soon (though I still can't drive it yet, I have to build a new engine first! ).

Which do you think looks better, the first pic's wheels or the second? Can you tell what I did? It's just a photoshop for now but that look is very achievable. I'm just curious as to what you guys think.

First...

Good choice on wheels. I am not sure what you changed though in the second pic. Darker color tint to the wheels?

EDIT: They are bigger in the second pic.

Nope, they're not bigger, they just look bigger. It's one of the reasons I like it.

If you have WinXP Home (dunno about others), save both pics, open one in viewer, hit F11, then toggle back and forth with the arrow keys. You'll see.

They're not 18's, he painted the inner part black to make them look bigger. Personally I like the first pic, I don't think it'd look good in person painted at all.

i see what ya did, you painted the inner spokes... that'd probably look good... in the pics it makes the wheels look bigger.

Yeah, I 'painted' the inner lip in the second pic, that's all I changed. The edge and wheel diameter is the same size. It wouldn't be hard to do that in real life, and would look just as good IMO (I experimented with electrical tape, heh).

As for 18's, that's a no. I don't like anything bigger than 17's on most cars for more than a couple reasons, but that's just me. I already have all four 17's, tires, and 2" adapters. These wheels are going on.

I like the second pic as well, but I hate those wheels to begin with.

These wheels seem to be love or hate. I happen to love 'em, they go well with the lines of the car IMO, and have a simple look which is my style.
The only thing I wish they did different was what I just changed (well, and I wish they made them wider than 8.5", but that's not too bad ).

Well they're already factory painted silver, so polishing will only get them shinier silver.

I mean sand the crap out of it and get it to metal. Smooth it to 600 grit and use some mothers mag polish, and polished rims is what you got. It would take too long tho.

Edit: I changed the brightness and contrast of the wheels in both pics a tiny bit to match the lighting conditions better. Everything else is the same though.

I think I'm going to do the electrical tape thing to all of them to get an idea of what it would really look like (because it's easily reversible). If it won't look right, then it's easy to just not do it, otherwise sometime in the future I might.
