Machined IROC wheels. . . DO THEY EXIST?

I'm looking at getting some 17" IROCs, but I'm not a big fan of the chromed ones. Does anybody know where I could get some machined finished ones?. . . similiar to the finish of stock 91-92 wheels.

Thanks.

YES

They do exist...I had my 87 wheels sent off from my local wheel shop to a place in TX to be "refinished". What I gave them was corroded flacking clear coat curb rashed rims..what came back was absolutly amazing...the rims had been "turned" on a cnc mahine...you could and still can see all the colors of the rainbow in them! the spokes and inside where treated to the stock color(grey) and all of it was clearcoated nicely. Now this was almost 7-8 years ago but back then I paid 325. I will try~n~ find out what the name of the place was

Damn, those do look good. I have a set that were so old, the red trim had turned a lovely shade of pink. The place that polished them did a nice job, but I doubt that they cnc-machined them, and I know they didn't put a clear coat on.

Yeah, I 'd like to know who did that work.

Yeah I've been there before, but I don't recall machined ones. Also, is it just me, or is the web site down?

Yea the site is down for some reason. The polished/silver ones are pretty close. You should talk to mr. zo6 who has the 18's. He did a lot of work to them to get them where I think you want them to look like.

That is his car and here is a link to his profile

They get the mags machined to clean them, get all the rust off
give it a like new look.

I doubt you can buy them machined out of the box, since machining is a refinishing process, not needed on a new mag.

Aluminum will not rust but certain alloys can corrode.

No, it turns white, which is why I painted my aluminum intake with aluminum-color engine paint
