Winter Storage Advise?
Winter Storage Advise?
Anyone have any tips for storing your car for several months?
1.) I have the Z06 Wheels on would it be best to take them off and put factory ones on so I do not flat spot them? Or is it safe to let them sit on one spot for 4/5 months?
2.) Does the concrete from the garage floor pose any threat to rust or moisture? I'm in Ohio and we will be looking at tempetures in the single digits in the next few months. My garage is insulated...Should I buy one of those rubber mats that go down under your car?
Any other storage tips anyone has would be helpful as I and most of us want to preserve these gems...

[/IMG] clean your car very well and apply some good quality wax. old tires would get flatspots...not new technology. you'll be fine. clean her and make sure the tank is full and use stabil in your gas.
put her to sleep and relax... let insurance worry.
you do have insurance right?

also, do not make the mistake of starting the car up for 5-10 min every week or so... it's useless and hurts the car.
do not put the car on jackstands as it only hurts the car.
if it sits outside a cover would be ideal but one that fits secure so it's safe from movement by high winds. you should open the car up every so often if it sits outside to make sure the windows aren't leaking.
beyond that it isn't rocket science. long term storage of many years there are things like above that are needed but for under 2 years and especially a winter many are uncalled for and can cause more damage then good.
