Are these GTA wheels?

I bid on these, but after looking at them closely I'm not sure they are true gta wheels. He said they were 16x7, but went back out and measured them and said they were 8" from lip to lip. I need to know ASAP!!

The size is cast into them on the back side of them, have hime read that to you. The actual part number is as well.

I'll be honest with you though, they don't look quite right, and they don't match up with mine. The cross laces are a little different, and the center is larger on these.

Crosslace rims should be 16x8. The fake GTA rims are 15x7.

If the crosslace is flat, not concave then they are true 16x8 crosslace rims.

They look like the early style crosslace rims.

They do, but if you look closer the "mesh" goes into the lug area where on real gta's it's flattened. Also the top of the mesh where it connects to the wheel is seperate, where on real gta's they come together.

He said the tires are 245/50/16's on in the picture, so they'd HAVE to be 16x8 right? So there was two styles of mesh wheels? I just need to know if these will fit the same as the later style?

Front crosslace rim. Notice the little notches that surround the rim. I think this is the early style. Not quite sure exactly.

So the ones in the first post aren't the early style? What exactly are they, does anyone know? Here is the ebay description:

-----------------------
You are bidding on a set of 87-92 Trans Am style aluminum wheels. 2 are in very good condition, and 2 need to be scrubbed/ detailed. No curb rash on the rim lips. 4 inch backspacing with offset. Fits small bolt GM: Chevelle, Regal, Cutlass, Firebird etc. Tires are not good. If you want them you can have them but the weight will increase shipping cost. I plan to have the tires removed before shipping to save weight & cost. These Rims are not perfect but still_in good shape. Would look real nice with the centers painted the color of your car!

Close up picture of single rim with tire is the worst one, which isn't too bad, just dirty inside the mesh.

I'd proceed cautiously - I believe Buick and maybe Oldsmobile offered wheels like these (similiar to the GTA's) but they have a different offset than the 3rd Gen F-bodies. These may not work on the four corners of your car.....

I backed out of them. I'll probably get a negative feedback, but oh well. It sounds like they won't work and I'm not chancing it.

Thanks for the info guys

Those are NOT gm GTA/Trans Am wheels. Period.

HINT: Take a look at the center section, it's not recessed and the lines are all wrong.

The lips are too shallow.

The spokes on factory wheels end in a point, these do not. (Don't intersect back together at the end of the spokes)

Hope this helps!

those look like an aftermarket crosslace wheel.. definitly not factory. however, they very well could be 16x8's and could fit our cars... I know enkei made crosslace wheels that look similar to gta wheels, but they had a flat center section..

The first thing that I noticed was that the centercaps go in from the back on those rims true GTAs go on the front. Definantly not real!

i had thoose EXACT wheels on my berlinetta when i got it but i think they where actually 14's... thats why i got the new wheels
14's are just to skimpy for a camaro. id be careful and check them in real life cus as i said mine were 14s

o yea but if u want them as a set of race wheels then go for it bacause i cannot belive how light thoose wheels are, im talking less then my new rims with the tires on thoose GTA style ones and still probally a good 8 lbs lighter

Those are aftermarket wheels. The are not GTA or factory Pontiac rims. That style was very popular back in the day.

My friend bought some Pontiac Grand Prix wheels and they look almost if not identical to those.
Bolt pattern is 5x100mm.

i was also going to say that i've seen similar style wheels on late 80s/early 90s grand prixs and also on Jeeps I believe. The consensus is that, whatever they are, they weren't originally from a Firebird. As for your feedback, inform e-bay that upon further research you found them not to be what the description says they are.

The Fiero Rims are/were typically black and were not 16x8 (I believe they're 15x7). I would wander outside and take pictures, but I dont have a digital camera

A wheel that measures 8 inches from lip to lip is really only a 7 inch wide wheel, the other inch comes from the two half inch lips for the tire bead to seat on.

I think these wheels are from a turbo Grand Prix from the early 90's. Not from a GTA for sure!

I don't think this possibility has been mentioned yet. I work at a service center and we had a Buick Grand National come in with black crosslace rims that looked exactly like the ones pictured. I have no way of knowing if they were original to the car, but they were that exact design. Specifically, I looked at the area where the crosslaces meet the lip of the rim and they touched at the same part of the diamond.
