4" cowl for Firebird

I've been searching a long time for a 4" cowl for my Bird. What's been hindering my search is that THEY DON'T FREAKIN' EXIST. I can find about 1,000 hoods for the Camaro, but none for the Firebird. The closest thing I've found is a 3.5" cowl from us-body (a questionable source). Does anyone know where to find one?

All I've ever wanted was a 4" cowl for my Firebird :sniff, sniff:

Ahhhh, but you are incorrect friend...for they DO exist. I know this, as there is one sitting on my 87 GTA in my driveway right now. =) The company that made it is called Glasstek, and it is located in Naporville, IL. I dont think they have a website, but you can probably call information on it. Just ask for the area code for naporville, IL, then call info for that, and ask for glasstek, simple as that. My hood cost me $350, and I went and picked it up, but they do ship them (obviously). I'll tell you this much...damn thing looks meeeeaaaaaaan!! I love it. Hope this helps ya.

Your wrong. They do make them. I have a beautiful one by Harwood sitting in my garage right now. Im waiting for the new paint job before i mess with it. Ive seen them on other firebirds and they are SWEET!! Summit has them if you call them, or you can get em from Harwood themselves. They make the bolt on version (like your present hood) or one with clips which is like 200 bucks cheaper..Hope this helps. Good luck

Yeah, harwoods hoods are about exactly the same design as the Harwoods, harwood is just a more national operation. Both are outstanding hoods, not to mention they look, as the man said, beyond mean. I actually had my hood latch give way and the hood come through my windshield. It tore the bolts out the inside of the fender, smashed my windshield, my wiper linkages, all types of damage. It didnt even budge the bolts in the hood, and with a tiny amount of fiberglass work to the back edge of the cowl, it was good as new. They're alot stronger than they look!
