Does this look tacky?

I posted this here because this has nothing to do with audio or stereo equipment....it has to do with appearance. So...what do you guys think? Is this tacky? or ghetto?

dude it looks ok. I dont really feel either way about it. But one thing i would be worried about is, you might just be advertising that you have a nice system. But if your not worried about that.. nice job.

I agree about theives and stuff....but...the car set's most of it's life in the garage......and whenever I do go out and drive it, I'll just cover it up with my rear hatch security cover.

*shrugs* what's the point of advertising for a company unless you're getting sponsorship? It looks OK, not messy or anything; just not something I would do. I mean you already have two subs with the logo on them right there anyway. Put an amp there.

[edit] oh wait... is the amp underneath that cover?

hey man if ya decide you dont want it i know someone who just might -wink wink-. i like it obviously but you know me pretty well and our taste is not exactly the same line. i also agree its a bullseye for thieves. with or without the security cover someone will target you. just keep it in the garage or close by ya and i wouldnt worry. oh wait i want it so... yes it sucks, it sucks bad, your so dumb... lol

One more vote to make the interior one color...I think black would look killer, but all grey would look good too...and personally I say ditch the advertising and if you want to break up the long section of the rear hatch maybe think about doing plexy to cover your amps/ since you have the pull down cover for securtiy

I already yanked the box out.......ripped all the carpet off, got the glue off, and now going for a 2nd coat of bondo. Tomorrow, it will all be redone in textured metallic graphite, just like the amp cover. Maybe that will make it look a bit better. I'm really thinking about redoing all of my interior plastic pieces (that are grey) in the same color...that way...everything would match.

Thanks for the responses...whether you like it or not. I really don't think it looks "tacky" it...just kind of splits up the rear a little bit...I'll post new pictures of the finished product tomorrow.

and could you post a close up on this textured metallic coating? sounds intresting...

and i guess you are against the plexy over amps idea?

Yeah, I can get a few close ups tomorrow. I used the same spray I as I did on my roll bar...it's about the exact same color as my SS seats...that's what really sold me on the color.

I wanted to hide my amp...so that's why I designed it the way I did. Just kind of plane and simple...but it has a custom touch to it.

yeah...me too..but like I said earlier...I have a security cover in the hatch and I only drive the car about 6 times a year...and it's only to shows. It's not like a park it in parking lots or anything late at night...

Yeah, I always use the hatch cover to hide my subs. I also don't 'thump' my system loud in my own neighborhood so no one knows I have anything in the car.

agreed...but..I wasn't trying to match the plastic in the rear hatch...I was matching the color of my SS seats which are ebony-graphite. I'm still having some idea's of how to match the plastic with the seats though...

Looks awesome. Think even though you are advertising for JL it looks awesome. Everything seems to flow and that is one sweet custom install.
