Much better than paint for rust protection:

That's not all the parts I had done but it was $75 for the parts I sent them.

Speaking of coating things... does anyone remember the picture someone posted of all their nuts and bolts coated? I want to find out how that was done; they looked great.

They do it in the same method as chroming. I restore vintage Mercedes, and we have all of the original hardware plated. Its not too expensive and we can get all different color coatings.

Isn't that the same stuff Holley uses on their carbs, that gives it that gold color?

There is silver or gold(yellow) zinc plating.

Our zinc plating at work doesn't hold up to heat at all, it flakes and turns white. I hope yours lasts being brake parts. They'll probably get pretty hot.

I doubt the hubs or brackets will get very hot at all, unless the bearings are tightened up too much. I can also get parts done in the white but I'm waiting to dip a set of rotors for that color. The company I use does a lot of work for the NASCAR shops north of Charlotte and also for Master Power brakes (MP Brakes). And yes, they do a lot of work on carburator parts.
