sorry to hear that bro...***...and you had just finished this project with new paint and wheels.
Any reason why the tire blew? Was it a defect of the tire?

Just wanted to say thanks to all who gave me words of encouragement...Reality has set in over the night and I am just thankful im just alive..The camaro isnt in that bad of shape but it will cost $$ and T.L.C...Im going to just swap out the rear end with a disc brake posi rear end with a posi and 3:42s since the axle shaft just snapped off on the drivers side...I might go ahead and do the eibach drop at the same time....As for the front spoiler, ill have to get that re-painted once i paint my other cowl hood...and my drivers side rim has a couple of nicks/scratches here and there...I think ill keep it ton the camaro for a reminder ...

As for the tire blowing,i have no idea...just a freak accident i would say....it felt like i was in a video game while in the 1080...Ill post some pics later tonight...Thank you to all who are here for me...it is greatly appreciated...I thought i would be a lil bit angrier(sp) than i am about the camaro...i guess i was wrong

Happy Thanksgiving,
Jon Sampang-brokenhearted

well i thought it would be worse they way you described it....

so you need a rear end good time to upgrade to a nice posi... plenty out there for around 100 bucks. the nose will need a sand and repaint.. and those marks on the fender you can almost heat that area up with a heat gun and tap the flanges pack into place. if the heat is right it won;t even damage the paint.

from the look of the tire it seems you may have ran over something that is way to clean to be a blow out. moist all blow outs have straingh tlines and the metal cords are broken jagged not clean cut like those. looks like a pip end of a bottle just right.

the rash on the rim could be sanded and re polished depending on how deep they are. hard to tell in the pics.

don;t get down easy fix in my view even if you replace the rim and have a body shop do the front nose repairs. if you change the rear yourself. maybe 1500-2000.

yeah i know what youre saying jeff...however,i was just about done with the camaro and to put in another 2K into it is not satisfying to a broken wallet...Thats a nice engine swap if you ask me...but its just the way the cookie crumbles...Im looking at about 50 bux for a new spoiler,350 is the cheapest disc brake posi rear end i can find,750 for 4 new tires, then since i have the rear end out,i minds well and do my drop so add 200 bux to that...then i have to take into account the paint...which isnt gonna be nice...but like i said..just the way the cookie crumbles so what can ya do.....

you know now that i look at that tire pic... what came first the tire blowing of the axle breaking? the axle could of broke cause the tire to fold and have the car land on it causing that rip.. where was the wheel after that accident? was it still under the car or down the road?

jeff

350 for axel i got my disk posi for 110. came outta a 88 9 bolt crappy gears but that can always be changed some day.

any cracks in the spoiler? if not it can be sanded and reapinted that will save some money...

i know i don;t mean o make it sound like no big deal.. but it is only cosmetic for the most part the body is still straight and relative little damage you are lucky...it could of been much higher a loss....

the reason i ask about the axle it may change your insurance covering it or not. and mechanical failure like an axel may be coverable as the cause of the accident where a tire may not be. depending on your coverage.

well thats the thing...there are cracks all over the front spoiler and bumper...not to mention my drivers side door barely opens...so i know there is a lot more damage than the eye can see...

oh can;t see that in the pic. the door may be just a simple loosen all the bolts on the front fender and realign. don;t panic yet, it is a real pita to adjust those things.

car looked real sweet good luck with the rebuild,

Yeh why does it barely open is it cause the fender is bent into it or what? You might just need to readjust the fender it might have got bent. If you have to adjust the door that would mean the frame had bent.
