i've been trying to track down a 91 black like in the other thread for another member here. in the search i found a place that has many of these in different years and styles. i have gotten alot of email and pm's since i posted some info about them in another thread and since i found some clear photos i figured i'd put them up.

I recently just lowered my 91 Z28 promo car, I'll post pictures sometime soon. It seems like these promos are getting harder and harder to find. I would like to get another 91 Z promo and leave it stock..

 

I bought the purple haze one off of ebay a while back,awesome color.

 

Never seen a purple haze promo model, do you have a picture of it.

I'll have to keep my eye out for one.

I have an '82 Z Promo?

When you guys say that, is it a direct release by Chevrolet?
Or is it released by an outside company?
Mine is like 'SunStar' or some crap like that.
Its all metal, working doors, hood, t-tops

It has the two tone paint - deep red with the silver gfx...

The Detroit Airport has a great Chevy store and huge selection of these things (so the girlfriend says). She picked it up for me on her way home. Paid $50 US...

I use to have a '83Z life size, the girlfriend couldn't tell the difference - she did a good job though. Nice present.

 

The ones I have were made by AMT/ERTL.

They were available from Chevrolet dealerships from 82-92

 

Does this mean you can modifify these models? How much do they cost now?

 

I believe anything can be modified

 

They are pretty easy to modify, if you have good plastic modeling skills. There are enough of them around that modifying them is no big deal.

Cost $10 to $50. Ten is the right price, fifty is too much.

The lowest I've paid is 10, the most 38. I have 22 of them. I like stock so I don't plan on modding any of them.

 

i got 2 84 or 83's for 10 bucks. i got a 91 for 15.

 

model looks great, but those TT2's are to big for yours i have some good sized ones that came as spares with my charger model

Just won a nice set off of ebay for the grand total of $34.00. It'll be a some-what post X-mas gift for my brother.

Yeah, I figured it was too. It's been a good past couple of days in hindsight. Scored the set of promo cars for $34 total. Also scored a non/ac heater box and a nice factory '82-'84 fiberglass hood for a total price of $30! $10 for the heater box and $20 for the hood. I love going to 'yards that have no clue what they have...lol!!
