Here's a pic of my L-88 hood.
It's not the best pic, but the hood is done in satin black and fits great. I molded the scoop on myself using a stock fiberglass hood.

Thanks. The hood cost me $50 from a wrecker, the scoop I found for free. And about 20 hours of labor, and $30 in material. a good 3" extra clearance. Will house a Victor Jr. and a nice size air cleaner eventually.

looks good a lil big for an l-88 for my taste but you did an excellent job putting that hood together my comliments to the chef

i think cause its kinda a beifed up shaker altho not functional but looks wisse i personally think they look good on some cars and not others but nice work

and it was functional, the rear was open just like a crowl hood so air could get in from the high pressure area in front of the windshield. Oh by "true L88" I meant it was the stock length, like 5 feet long.. They look much better that way, the way the general intended. The shrunk down versions look..well....shrunk down.Good job on the hood

I don't know about paint. It's satin black, sanded with 2000grit and is smooth as glass. But the satin black sits in nice with the Dark Plum of the rest of the car. You can't tell cause my digi-cam pics are horrible without lots of lighting.
