Lookin to paint my car, what color white?
Hey, I'm lookin for some opinions, maybe some photos as well. I'm just about ready to get my car painted and I'm dead set of keeping it white (its original color, car has the original paint on it still) but I'm not really a big fan of the factory's off-white job, nor am I fan of pure bright white. Anyone have any ideas on different shades?
I found this picture doing some searches and REALLY like it but maybe its just the lighting that makes the shade look slightly different than usual? Anyone know this car?

Bright white with a heavy pearl to give it the blue/pink tint under light... that would look freakin awesome on a car with your agressive stance and the hood and all. Or maybe with a blue tinted flake would be cool, but the pearl just looks badass on agressive cars. Esp. with some Z28 stripes or sompin...

umm those would be skinny's on the front of that car not jsut really skinny tires on normal rims.
as for what color white is a good color. i vote for gm artic white that is used on the grandsport corvette's. thats what i used and what a difference does it make compared to the stock white. the stock white looked yellow once i put a peice of the new stuff next to it. here's a pic of my car

I have kind of a dilema, I know white is pretty much white no matter what but it seems bright white seems kinda "cheap" looking to me for some reason? It doesn't quite shine as well as a darker/creamier white. Every once in awhile a white car will catch my eye (like the picture I posted) and I wonder what the "trick" is to make it look that great. Maybe its more the painter skills than the actual shade?

i think the caddy pearl white would look better on a firebird...
for a camaro, go with the brightest white you can find...

I dont like bright white because it looks cheap to me. Its almost like its so bright that it doesn't really shine (good for hiding imperfections though...)
I have a question... What color are the 1989 TTA's? Are they painted with the same color as my '88 came with? The TTA's in the reader's rides look real good to me... Maybe my factory color is what I'm looking for ...mines all faded and yellow and I cant remember the last time I saw a clean f-body with my color

Actually, mine is very bright and also very shiney. At the car show I was at in the above pic, the RS convertible was for sale. Many, many people commented on the color difference and how his was yellow and dull. I got many compliments on how reflective mine was. It is very hard to tell because of the distance and resolution of the camera. The car is too far for me to get a good pic, but I may make a trip there in the next couple of weeks. I disagree about the brighter white looking 'cheap'. I believe it is exactly the opposite. The white GM used back then for our cars looked like it was mixed in a dirty can
