will c5 wheels fit on a third gen???

after dreaming about f-bodys for several years i finaly got a chance to own a 91 firebird. i am lookin at upgrading the wheels and tires on her. some c5 corvette (wagon) wheels have caught my eye but i am not sure if there gonna fit. i know that to mount them i need 2 in spacers but i dont want them to stick past or rub the fenders the fronts have 245 45 17's mounted on them and the rears are 275 40 18's. any opinon on how these would look/fit would be helpful

The easiest way would be to get a 4th gen rear, and get the spacers for the front.

omnipotentgoku has this exact combo

Yes you can run spacers in the rear as well. Thats what im planning on doing.

If you have a 4th gen rear at your disposal, by all means go for it.

I paid $300 for the set from andris skulte at http://skulte.com. (Front and rear billet adapters, not particularily spacers..)
I'd recommend him, a real cool guy and his product is good.

note... yes, they will rub ( the fronts). Slight modification may be needed to your wheel wells.

Your setup

It looks like you have 18's in the rear and 17's in the front. Is that correct?

I had 18 Z06s on my RS for a while but if I didn't get them I would have gone for the C5s. but if you do get C5s get the thin spokes, they are soooooo much better than the wagon wheels.
and yes it needed a drop, bad.

opinions are soooooo much like azzholes buddy... I think mine smells like roses, you might be inclined to disagree however.

I like the zo6 wheels as well, my wagons just accent my vehicle however, so I stick with em.

I just bought these:

With 255/40/17 tires. What problems might I run into with rubbing?

My C5 wheels rub a bit in the front, but only when I max out the turn. Otherwise I'm all good.

I don't notice any rubbing with the wagon wheels I went with. 245 tire up front.
I've got formula (97) 17". Wheels on my formula and not seeing any rubbing there either. The formula has 275 up front with c5 brakes and 2" spacers

I think I've got c5 brakes as well, and a 4th gen z28 rear end. I just got this car so i still have A LOT of exploring on it to do on it. I actually want to see if 1984 trans am wheels would fit on it (15x7) so I could make a knight rider tribute for Halloween. It'd be fun to park it outside while kids trick or treat. Wheel fitment seems to be a very talked about subject, so I've been paying attention to forums, old and new, and trying to learn along the way. Post up some pics! I would love to see them! 15" wheels won't fit with c5 brakes. 17s barely clear up front.
I may already be a member of your facebook group. I'm in several firebird and 3rd gen groups

Well crap! I just got these 15x7 wheels (all for $60 total) and was going to buy these knight rider faux turbocast wheel covers to make them look like KITT without spending $4000 for the real thing. I've got an 89 formula as well that is all stock so im not totally sunk. But check these out! They would look good enough for a cost effective tribute KITT
