Hmmm
Now these prices are close but rough estimates, but this should illustrate how much most of the people around here are cheapskates and why selling parts for thirdgens is getting less and less reasonable.

Decent 91 Z28 convertible to start with $3500 if not more

LS1 / T56 pullout $5500

Ported heads, cam, intake manifold, valvetrain $3000 ~

Axle / axle upgrades $1000 ~

Exhaust $1000 ~

Brakes $1500 ~

$2200 ~ Under suspension

Wheels / tires / adapters $1500 ~

Hood, taillights, foglights $1000~

Paintjob top to bottom, quality $5000~

Interior $2000 ~

This takes into account 0$ for labor, and im sure is quite a close representation to what it would take to duplicate the car right now.

$27,200

I'm not a fan of the rear exahaust. Just doesn't fit the car at all.

id say its probably a couple grand overpriced but not by more then 2-4, think how much a 4th gen ls1 would cost you. Thats basically what youre getting plus the cool factor of your car not being butt ugly (ie a 4th gen )

Two questions
First of all anyone know where those seat covers are from?

Second of all if anyone ends up buying that i would love to see some pictures of how they notched out the exhaust. Thats exactly what i want to do except i want the two tips spaced apart.

Not only are you paying for the parts and the award status, but also a "history"...

This car has been documented from stage 1 and you know its been done right.

Anyone can slap an LS1/T56 combo into something else, but with all the attention to detail here, you've got something that much more.

Yes, $26k is high, but if you had to build the car yourself to the same spec and such, you'd pay that.

If someone is in the market for a FINISHED show/race 3rd gen, then it is pretty close to perfect for them. I bet Kandied's old Z went for somewhere around there. Thats my guess.
If I were trying to sell something like that I would advertise it in the Dupont Registry. International buyers would likely pay even more.

I would expect them to sell it to someone, charge thier credit card double, and "forget to ship it." A few months later after 300,365 phone calls and a business name change or two they will ship it, but the car they ship will be some other car they had lying around. Purchaser will have a heart attack, nervous breakdown, and require a therapist for the next 5 years or so.

Sorry, couldn't help it!

If I was in the market for a new third gen that car would be a contender.
Like the previous poster noted, if you just got all the parts you likely would have spent that much anyways.
I figure I will have something like 20 - 25 grand in my 86 and its not a drop top.

But their bad rep would make me think twice.
(no personal bad experence)

While I understand your point, mods and upgrades don't really add that much value to a car. Ask anyone who has built a nice car and had to sell it, typically they will return it to stock and sell the mods seperatly. $.02...

Perhaps but I like most all of the mods they did.
And it would appear they did a nice job with the car.
So instead of doing all the work yourself you can get it turn key.

Mabye the price is high but what difference would making the price say 20k? It is still a lot of money and it either is or is not what you want.

I have seen this car in person, and it is nice, but not quite perfect. His exhaust looked crooked to me. I saw him run the 1/4 mile while in MI for the camaro show. It ran low 13s... but of course milan doesnt prep their track real good.

I would love to own this car, but for that price, I would rather run 11s for a ton less.

its wont get that much , you get about half of what you put into a custom car .
