My ARE 16x9.5" 2 Piece Crosslace wheels

Put these on last night since it was "supposed" to start raining in Richmond today at Noon at the Auto-X event but the rain held off till my 8th and 9th runs. I was very disappointed that I didn't have the Nittos on the car since the Potenza RE71's suck.

here is a pic showing the wheel in motion,

and another action shot,

I'll take some better pics of the wheels sometime this week.

Yes, it is very fun and addicting.
After all the runs, I tried my hand at drifting. I didn't do so well, just kept spinning all the way around.

Looks good man. Definately better all one color. Are the center caps metal or plastic? How would they look black?

Would the dust covers show in doing that?

I'm not sure, but I think the cap sticks out a little too much (again, just my opinion).

The import cars kicked ***, especially the Miata's, MR2 Spyders, and WRX STi's.

The centercaps are plastic but the trim ring that goes over the lug nuts is metal and is black.
I could probably have a flat piece made to fill the hole where the cap would screw in.

I'll take some pics today of the wheel with the cap and with the cap off.

There was one LookOut Drift guy there in a black BMW with a white decklid. It was a turbo one, older style. He was very good.

I only tried one lap drifting during the fun runs, I did ride along with another drift guy in a goldish 240 and he was ok, but not as good as the LookOut guy.

here are the pics of the wheels,

They are behind the trim piece that the center cap screws into,
here is the wheel without the trim plate on,

That one was held at Virginia Motorsports Park outside of Richmond VA.

It was a nice large setup, I got up to about 45-50mph. Kept it in 2nd the entire run.

Well, the guy selling these wheels/tires only had this size and he sold them since they wouldn't work with his larger brakes.
I still have my ZR1's, that will go back on this weekend for another event.

Maybe you can replace the ARE center with a 4th gen WS6 emblem like some have done on the Ronal wheels.

Actually, I may see if my friends dad could machine me some flat plates to screw where the cap would screw, since it does look pretty decent without the cap sticking out.

Eibach Sportlines, but I read that they perform the same as the stock WS6 springs.

Spohn LCA's with Poly/Poly bushings which I read are not good for cornering since the poly bushings will bind while cornering.

Adjustable Panhard to recenter the rear end.
KYB rear Shocks, stock style Monroe front Struts.
LCA Relocation Brackets.

I am probably going to get a different set of LCA's.
I have the first design Spohn ones and they are adjustable and the locking nut keeps getting loose, I may just have a friend weld them, or just replace them with non-adjustables.

Subframes are in the garage, just waiting on my y-pipe to get done so that I can put my headers, y-pipe, and subframes on.
Right now, the stock y-pipe is too far over to the pass side rocker and there is no space above or next to it to fit the subframe connector.
Dropping the y-pipe would have probably resulted in broken studs on the manifolds, so we held off.

I also have a STB in the garage, but I am not sure if it will clear the holley stealthram.

I don't plan on putting a tubular k-member on, but may eventually.

This event was $45 since it was limted to 50 or so cars and we all got 9 runs.
Most events are $20 and you get 4 runs. There is one this sunday out at Pungo airfield in Va beach. This is a $20 event for non-members and $15 if you are a member of the Tidewater SCCA club.

Once you walk the course and watch a couple of cars run you get a feel for the layout, and there are cones lying down pointing to the side you are supposed to go around as well.

I normally run 275/40/17 wheels/tires on the car, but on Sunday they were calling for rain at noon so I ran the street tires.

here is how the car normally looks,

Question on alignment specs.

What frt alignment setting are you runnig i.e. toe, caster and camber? I assume you run the same on your daily drive.
I'm about to do 4th gen 17x9s and was looking for some advice. I'm especially interested in how much toe and caster you run.
On a differnt subject it's really great to see some talk about track time and not be talking about a1/4 mile. While I respect the time and effort it takes to prep any car for competition. It's not what gets my blood pumping.
As I explain it to my friends who do drag race: In drag racing the better you get the less you do it. You might start out in a 15sec car and if you make it ot the top (Top Fuel) your doing it for less than 5sec.

The camber is set all the way in, meaning the strut plates are set all the way in towards the motor.
alignment is very good, in fact, it is the same as the day I bought the car in may of 2003. All tires wear evenly.
With the 275 front tires, the car will wander on roads that have grooved pavement.

Thanks for the quick reply

Thanks for the tire wear info. I'm not saying I like the look and stance of your car. But I did save most of the shots you posted for inspiration. LOL!
