Alright Im trying to decide whether or not to get my car tinted and then how much. Even after doing a search I got different opinions so I thought I thought I would try a poll. Which tint is the best?

Do any of you guys have trouble with the 5% in the day? I understand at night but what about day when you will be driving it the majority of the time.

Shouldn't be as long as the sun is out, but if it's one of those rainy, overcast days it starts to become a little difficult, but that's just me.

By the way guys, the list is a little dated. In GA, the Supreme Court overruled the tint law (not its intended use, but its application), so right now, there is no law, but I wouldn't be suprised to see it come back into affect soon.

My personnel opinion is for actual driving 20%, but if it's just a show car, 5% looks great with 35% on the windshield, but I WOULD NEVER put that on a car that I drive.

no trouble really during the day. And night isn't too bad with the back up lights, now at one point I had blackouts on those, and that made it difficult, lol

I have 20% on the sides and 5% on the back and I'm very happy with it. So far no cops have pulled me over for them. Pics are on my webpage, mypetroc.net

They may make it but I highly doubt they make it for car glass, maybe back limosine windows? That is basically black, 0%.

Does 35% all around really stink that bad? I'm going to cry if I cant even notice it.

35% is about equivilant to 'soft ray' glass only, the tint turn the glass a more greyish color instead of the blueish color it normally is.

If you want 5%.. get a note from your eye doctor saying you have light sensitive eyes.

5% isn't like driving blind at night either... lights and lighted objects are easy to see.. they just have less definition as compared to untinted glass.

IE.. you can tell a crown vic police cars headlights & markers.. just no defined silhoutte of the light bar that's about to come on to pull you over.

Generally, around here, cops could give a rats ___ about tint (as seatbelt tickets bring in more money for the city), unless they are having a slow day. Even then... it's a easy ticket to contest... even w/o an optometrist note.

Just my opinion though...

"Cop Magnet"

I have 35% sides n rear, n I have been pulled over n checked! All the local yokels have nifty little meters now, just slip it over the edge of the window, n BAM! An exact reading of the percentage of lihgt pass-thru. I came in @ 34%, he said no prob, only writes tickets for 25% or less. Not sure on that list tho, to the best o my knowledge, Or. only limits to the front or side of the driver. Anything behind cud be totally blacked out, so long as you have 2 side view mirrors...?

How much have most of your fines been? Ziebart said they wont do anything illegal because they got a $2000 dollar fine along with a $2000 fine for the driver so they stopped doing it.

The coolest is to do the back window only and do it dark.
but if not that then no tint at all looks nicest.

Although since im so paranoid i allways think someone's going to shoot me if i dont have window tint but it just looks sooo much nicer without it.

im surprised that people would turn ther zeibart place in , id just say i did it myself, i wouldnt want to get them introuble , but you have to check around , i have one place do my rear window in 1 piece in 5% and the same place wouldnt do the sides in 5% but a place down the street that tried and couldnt do the rear in 1 piece did the sides in 5%, so it matters who you go to , If i were you id get the 5% in the rear window first and then go from there.I wanted the rear as dark as possible , i hate that people can see in my car and like watch me pick my nose or something and the light bothers me at night so i wanted it dark . DO the back and go from there.
