going from crappy red to Flat Black

im going to have my car painted in Flat Black.. the question i have is-

Is there a clear coat that i need to ask for that will not be shiney? a friend who paints peoples cars as a side job is going to do it, and i have to buy all the paint materials for him.

anyone have advice on what brand of Flat Black to use and what non-glossy clear coat to use?

i think this will look badass since my car is sitting on sportlines and has 4thgen silver ZR1's.
