Microfiber on rims?

I haven't really used them on that. Now, for glass, they are miracle workers. Plus on dusty interiors, the dust litterally clings to the microfiber.

I've used them to wipe off the residue when polishing my rims and they work great. As for the thread count, I never payed any attention and just bought the turtle wax ones at autozone.

Here is a good website with info on Microfiber towels. I love them! They also work great at dry the car.

Note: Do not wash them with anything else as the lint from cotton will get trapped in the fibers. Also it is better to use liquid soap than crystals. If you use crystals make suer to thoroughly rinse the towels.

on billet especially they are very nice as they don't scratch like cotton. walmart has $5 for 5 but they aren't nearly the thread count of the ones that wizards sells which is $12 for 1.

i use the high thread count on the paint and the lesser from walmart on my wheels and engine bay. i have separate ones for each though and after several uses i downgrade them to rags in the garage as the cheaper ones don't hold up to washing as well.

Exactly! I have some 3m mircofiber towels I got from my Painter...those I wash the car with. They are not a clingey as the normal version. I have a set for wax on, wax off, Quick detail, interior, billet/aluminum polish removal... My body ones get downgraded to billet and interior duty. Have a health supply, so no shop towel stats yet!

About passed out the other day...Mom found my dirty mircofiber stash and thought she would help out and wash then with a load...I was like NOOOO! You just killed tham all! Now I have 1/2 my stock that have been reduced to interior and aluminum towel! Some I just bought for this last show! Not sure if rewashing will save them or not.

Any thoughts?

i'd hand wash them and go from there... not knowing what was used on what would be the problem but i'm sure you'll be alright. should always use new clean ones on soft things like paint or billet anyhow.

I've been doing some snooping around and these look pretty good, 200,000 TPSI.
