Black Rims Or Silver!
Thinking of powder coating my rims black on my 91 red z28 with stock rims. The paint is faded on the rims, use to be red now its pink. So i can clean them and polish the alumiunm or paint them black. Need some opinions. Already glass blasted one rim just for s%i@s and giggles.

I'm going to have to disagree and say that black wheels with a polished lip look good on anything.
...that's assuming the wheel itself can pull it off.
Not a fan of those particular wheels black/polished lip.

On the other hand...reading the post again, ALL black would not look good.... and I'd agree that not many cars can pull off the all black look

black ronal's, its all about getting the contrast right, you cant have the rim overpower the look of the car, at certain angle the black iroc rims do that to my car... well at least thats what i think... ps white and black dont work too well, to much varriance in the color, and you cant have the rim all black, so it blends with the tire, i was thinking of paintin the lip of my rims the same color as my lower body stripes aqua blue....

I would polish them. I have seen them polished before and I like them a lot better...just look at the link that TPI383 posted, that is a great example. Senior Member

personally, i'd say those would look better totally polished, than lip and black. GTA wheels have a much deeper lip that makes the polished effect look very very good.
On a side note, nova, do you have a link w/ more pics of your car/wheels, ive been considering something very similar (flat grey has to go)

An aftermarket set of wheels might look alright...but if you paint the stock wheels black...I don't think it would look good at all. Why not just repaint the red highlights in the wheels or change the highlights to silver? Whatever you do, clean those tires!
