How is your front plate mounted? (camaro)

Is there a way to get my plate mounted closer to the grille? The way it was mounted when I bought the car had some bracket that makes the plate stick out an extra inch and a half.

I have half a mind not to put the damn thing back on when the car gets repainted but if I get 100$ tickets for not having a front plate then I can't afford to make my car uneededly fast. I know the firebird guys had a nice bracket to mount the plate at the very bottom of the bumper off the gfx. Is there a way to make the front plate on a camaro look nice (well as nice as a nasty front plate can look).

I just took the hole braket and plate right off. I think it looks better with no plate. I live in New york and were are suppose to have the plate on the front but I have never got pulled over for it for 3 years running.

My 89 iroc doesn't have a front plate, and I'm not going to put holes in the grill for a plate.

Took my plate, bent about 3/4 inch at the top and bottom under and drilled some new holes in the plate for screws. Put it right against the center piece of the grill. Sets back in, looks like a legal plate, car looks a whole lot better for such a small mod.

check out slp they make a bracket for the 4th gens that mounts the plate under the ground effect. the braket mounts to the reinforcment. you could prolly make this kit work or make ur own.
