In my opinion, bigger wheels and lower drops go together. I'm getting ready to install the Pro-Kit as well, and I'm keeping my 16" Irocs. With 18"s, my opinion would be to run sportlines.

...but that's based only on appearance, and again, it's just my "opinion".

Depending on what sidewall you run the overall diameter doesn't have to be much different than the factory wheels.... once you go to 19 or 20... then you really need to worry about stance.

I would say sportlines. The pro kit is not a very agressive drop its more for performance than looks. It would leave to much gap with a 18 w/low profile tires. It would kind of have that 4X4 look cars get. (refering to the overall height)

My personal opinion on the Pro-Kit and 18's, I think you'll have too much fendergap. The smaller the tire sidewall gets, the lower the car has to go to maintain the aspect ratio between the wheel and the car. Otherwise the ratio is off and it appears the car is sitting higher than it actually is.

I agree.. lower is better... but technically you can keep almost the same size diameter as stock... once you hit 19/20.. the diameter is bigger than stock so you really run into problems.

here is pro kit with 17's if its any help, even if you go 18 you match the tire size to keep an original height of the tire. i have two diffrent size tires but they are still the same rolling size as the stock 15's.

sportlines are lower but i have also heard bottoming out problmes are more evident with the sport vs pro kit.

JeffW, that looks REALLY low for a Pro-Kit. Is that your car? If not, I'd say it has Sportlines (or similar) and not the pro-kit.

....and as far as going with 18's, I can't stress this enough. Do what you want, but don't dismiss staying with the 16" stockers. I regularly get compliments on mine. Without fail, everyone says that it's good to see a car without 17s or bigger. Big wheels do look good, but that doesn't meant 16's are bad. It's a different look, and it all depends on what you like.

Lookin like this is my only option.. I opted for crazy power when i built my car which forced me to go with LT headers, and now a true dual exhaust, so now i'm stuck with the stock look, not that it looks bad at all, i like it, just like all these cars with 18s alot too thats all lol..

Maybe i could at least go with some 17's and get away with alittle in the looks department Or i'll just polish up my stock IROCs decisions decisions..

Whats the widest tire you can put on a 16" IROC rim? Your gonna need some wider tires for sure with that beast of a motor.

im doin 20s with air ride.. only way to get it to lay as low as it is

the sportlines are the way to go if you are going a bigger rim..

why not just go with 17s? if you do your homework, then the 16s and 17s will be the same rolling height. so ground clearence wouldnt be effected.

I no, where do i draw the line.. i figure for cruising on the streets it'd be cool to roll on some 17s.. how bout the ronal firehawks, how would they look on my car u think?? they are simple, cheap, nice deep dish which i like.. any comments..

i do have ALOT of motor but when i need traction i can just slap on the 15 inch welds with some hoosier qtps and be ready to go

for a street tire, 255 is the widest i would go on a stock rim

slicks can go like 26x10.5

ohh thats sick. How much ground clearance do you have at the sideskirts there? I was thinking that I wanna go with 18"s and Sportlines but I dont wanna end up bottoming out all the time.hows the ride too?

I dont know on the clearance.I'll have to go out and measure...I havent bottomed out or scraped on the spoiler...I guess it really depends on the driver ...As for the ride, its not horrible and its not a caddy. It really depends on the shocks and strut you go with...Im running my stock 120K mile shock/struts and I dont lose my teeth while i drive

I didn't think the eibachs had to settle. Mine is still the same ride height since the day they were installed. If I had the chance to get a different wheel...I would have went with 18's myself.
