now see, i think the opposite, i think they should be lighter, or same color.
but, i like that idea...it seems like the ppl around here just try to come up with ideas that no one has...even if they suck...but i like this idea.

I'm suprised that anyone mentioned it but I am 3 days away from painting my car majestic red which is basically the corvette magnetic red I think and I am doing black ground effects. We were going to do sat GFX though because we didnt want anything as glossy as the body, a more flat a beefy look. I defidently think a darker GFX looks better, alot more of a muscle look to it and I think silver GFX looks like junk except when on a few colors such as black and blue.

i think it gives it a more muscle car look too. I think the '06 gt500 is going to have satin or flat black fgx. It looks really good too. Check out this months motor trend.
I think satin black gfx give the car a longer/thinner profile (not taller).
Wish we could get a photoshop pro to take a stab at it.
Yossarian (from catch22 ?) I agree about trashiness of silver gfx. I'd love to see pics when you are done. ARe you doing flat or satin?
FYI: The '06 ZO6 will have a satin black splitter under the nose.

For the red Im thinking the magnetic, majestic, red tint ct 3 stg, whatever you want to call it which is found on many GM vehicles such as Trailblazers, Corvettes, etc which I dont even know if it will work. I dont know yet about the black, I am thinking a satin but I'm still waiting to find an example I like on something. Am I wrong or isnt satin basically the same as flat? What do you think about the red with satin black GFX, louvers, and light pockets but keep the gloss grill as it is? P.S - how do I post more than one picture per response?

I think satin GFX at night would pretty much dissapear and if you think about it. It would look slick as hell in my opinion though so I think Im doing it.

i would do everything in the red color you want except for the GFX and the grille, which i'd do in satin black. Keep the headlight pockets body color as well as the louvres.
But some people like to offset the headlight pockets with black. Personally I wouldnt. But (of course) its up to you. Probably look fine either way.

About the appearance at night: I have gloss black body color and gfx. I can see them at night just fine.
Plus, on our rocker panel gfx, there is the emblem. So visually, you'd know something is there.
I know what you mean though. Its a big project and you'd want to know so bad how it would look before you do it. Tough call.
