Missing fin on Firebird?

I looked at a car a buddy wants to buy, '87 LG4 Trans Am, body is flawless, but it's MISSING the aerowing. It isnt' a hack job, as I can't tell where it was originally mounted on the deck, but the marks from the mounting points on the glass are still slightly visible, if you know where to look. It looks very odd at first, but I guess it grew on me the longer I stared at it. Plus, it made it much easier to lift the hatch up!

Anyone else seen this before? Opinions, comments?

I'm guessing it would look like a TA with no wing, WOW!

Well, I guess I asked for opinions, and I sure got some...

I removed the metal fin of of my '87 Firebird for some rust treatment, let's see if I can find hte picture I snapped of that sorry pile of parts...

Man, that car was a real step-mosnter...

There are two GTA's on the board with no wings, and they looked pretty good I think.

The wing probably disintigrated and they just took it off awhile ago to make it look better.

That's what I was thinking. I saw one GTA, really beat-up, in which the fin had been sat on or something really bad, as half of it (the right side) had been all but removed. It was really bad, and the rest should've been removed as well, as it wouldn't have looked so tacky with just half a wing in place. Considering the rest of the car was in such a dilapitated state of disrepair, though, maybe it was an anti-theft measure...?

I plan on repainting the GTA and TTA someday, so I'm going to get new wings installed just prior to that so the re-painting get those too.

EDIT: I kant spel

Hey, that looks pretty good. Fix the wheel spacing and it will look real nice. The lack of GFX and the lack of fin balances out - the car my friend was looking at had normal T/A GFX, but the lack of fin made it look unbalanced, if you follow me. Yours looks better.

In my opinion, the birds look funny with no wing unless it has wheels that compliment the car.
I had no wing on my car for awhile and it looked pretty decent since I had wider wheels on the car.

by the way, i was not trying to be a SmartArse, just clearing it up a bit.

I think the removed spoilers look good on few applications, such as zephyrs old TA pictured above.
