GTA Wheel Offset

I bought a set of GTA wheels, but I can't decide which ones are the fronts and which ones are the backs. The offset is different. I guess that means you don't rotate your tires. Can anyone tell me which ones are which?

I take it these are the cross lace GTA rims. If that is the case, the rims with the deeper dish (depth from outside of rim to cross lace bracing section) are for the front and other are obviously for the rear. I belive the mounting offset for these rims is 0 mm front and 36 mm rear. Both rims will fit the rear with no rubbing just as an fyi. Hope this helps.

So you can put front crosslaces on the back w/o rubbing? Won't they look goofy sitting so far in the rear wells? I always wished GM made the lip the same for the f & r. Or at least give the rear the deaper lips.

Fronts have a 0 offset, and rears have a +16mm offset. So a "front" on the rear won't sit farther into the wheel well than a "rear," it'll stick out farther... 16mm farther, which is about 5/8".

It should look better, if noticeable at all.

But probably the nicest advantage of having fronts all the way around is that you'll gain the convenience of rotatability. You won't have to pop the tires off and swap them from rim to rim.

There are some people here who have fronts all the way around. Seems to me that Zepher might have or did have at one time, but I'm not sure which style wheels they were, and you wanna see front GTA rims all the way around, right?

My '87 rims aren't GTA rims, but they're the same dimension and offset, so they'd fit exactly the same way, and I do have two extra fronts that I've been planning to put on the rear, giving me fronts all the way around. But at the moment, my 4 fronts are out being chromed.

As the car sits now, it's got an extra set of rears on the front just so it's not on jack stands while it waits. But having rears all the way around, by comparison, has the same look as all fronts--meaning, the back wheels stickout about 5/8" more than the forward wheels. And honestly, the difference isn't even noticeable.

When I get my wheels back and on in a couple of weeks, I'll take a pic and post it here on this topic, but I doubt the dimension change will look noticeably different.

I wish I could find a decent set of front GTA rims so I can put them on all four corners to be able to be rotated and hten keep the rear ones for a set of slicks for when i want to have fun.
