with these tires:

and if im correct, i should be less likely to spin tires when im racing somebody with those tires, right?

im just gonna be informative about this bc maybe your 15 yrs old and you just dont know but the weld racing rims ...ok not a bad choice if you go to the strip alot but you dont put TRUCK tires on your transam or ill kill you...and no they would slow you down drastically and suck at gripping the pavement
you need the rims along with a good drag radial such as bfgoodrich kdws or goodyear eagle f1s in a big size for the back such as 305 40 17 or what not then some skinny fronts...but i mean if youre going for that whole drag look then go with some straight up drag radials MT streets on the back
just dont drive it around everywhere not legal i believe

to be honest its all for looks, which is why i want the truck tires. a long time ago i saw 2nd gen trans am with 4 huge truck tires, n i fell in love. i wasnt planning on putting 4 truck tires on, just 2 in the back. i think it makes the car so much more aggressive looking.
i do plan on going to the strip occasionally tho.

I somehow doubt he's going to need MT drag radials for a 3.1L V6 Firebird

I personally think they look horrible for our cars. Especially being mismatched. Not to mention that those types of tires are made for offroad, not for racing. The wheels are OK though.

pretty sure most people will laugh when they see your car with those tires, but hey it is your car do what you want. my personal opinion

every time you would pull up to anyone who knows anything about cars, I don't see them complimenting the way your car would look.As for traction, they are going to be horrible. Those tires are designed for grip in dirt and mud, not pavement. For racing, you want tires which have as much rubber contacting the road as possible, that's where grip comes from. The tires you chose have only 50% of surface in contact with the road.

well yea i figured the same thing, that everywhere i went some bystander would point and laugh. not that i really care. but since the traction would be so terrible, are there any tires that are large and really aggressive looking that u guys can recomend, that are street legal n arent slicks?

Bit of advise, if you want traction. Look in sumitt raceing and get the tire that fits the look you want. BUT only pick out of the ones that say "we don't know how this got D.O.T. app.
Just be careful in the rain
P.S. DOT approval means that they are legal

If you really want it go for it. It will take a lot! Of work to fit a 35" tire under a Firebird. I think you have to use a blazer chassis and the firebird body. Someone might be able to clarify this for you.

haha. If you want aggressive looking tires just get a set of 15s like the kid up top said 295-50- or whatever. I was gonna put a set on my cutlass but they didnt fit because my springs on one side are shot.

Why confuse the boy about traction? He may take you serious. Just tell him the truth so he's not conflicted. Not saying this to be mean but it would be sad for a 18 year old to save his money and buy those thinking he was going to get good grip.
EDIT: Wrong age.

I have a set of BFG 31-1050R15 On my 4WD Pathfinder they are really bad in the rain, crawl to get going. If you have any confusion with tire's you can ask the people at a good tire shop. For the price my kelly 235/65's were not that bad, they grip alright but I have never driven my car in the rain or snow so not sure.
