Urethane?

So, I have my painting supplies picked out, all HOK. I chose the jet set black urethane solid over black Ko-seal II primer/sealer, over Kwikure 2 part epoxy chromate-free base primer. They state that a clear isn't necessary. Anyone use the urethanes without clear? If so, how's it look/holding up?

Urathane is a single stage paint. No clear needed. However, a lot of people will clear it anyway, that way you can wet sand the clear to give it a real slick finish.

Can't the urethane itself be wetsanded?

Most paints are urethane, including those intended specifically as a 2-stage basecoat/clearcoat. My father uses 2-stage urethane paints exclusively.

You can wetsand and buff a single stage urethane paint no differently than doing it with a clearcoated finish.

That's what I wanted to hear. The UB04 is a single stage urethane. Save some bucks. Would a gallon do 3 or 4 coats on a t-top car (should be enuf for wet sanding?), or could I get away with 2 or 3 quarts? The sealer is also black, which should stretch out the first coat a bit, I hope.
