Paint the muffler black?

As most Flowmaster guys know....the 80 Series Flowmaster is a pretty bulky muffler. Everytime I stand behind my car and look at it...that huge muffler almost over powers everything. Like...your looking at the muffler other than the exhaust tips, the taillights...the width of the wheels ect. So, what do you guys think about painting mufflers with a hightemp black? Would it be *******ish?

Just standing on the street behind, the car you can't see my flowmaster. The tips are obvious enough.

I know what you mean though. The muffler is a little super sized.

I don't think I would paint mine though. It's still giving me that new muffler stink when it gets warmed up. hehe

And another for emphasis...

My hooker areochamber muffler came painted black. it doesnt stand out much like that. If your tired of it sticking out like a sore thumb, then black is a great way to make it blend in with the rest of the undercarrage

you know thats a good idea to paint it, id probably do something like that if i still had a muffler, i hate when you can see it too, so i know what you mean , what about powdercoating it black , i know that would be a better finish but it all depends on if your gonan take the muffler off to paint it or just spray bomb it under the car. I think paint it or powderocat it though. its a good idea to hide it a little .

Paint it flat black, i had a ravin on mine before i changed the exhaust again and that was a good size muffler and you could barely see it under there since ravins come flat black.

Thanks tom3! It used to not look that way. There was many hours spent removing all the undercoating and stripping it down to bare metal and repainting everything. I think I finally got all the melted undercoating out of my hair now
