Welp, some of you know me on hear and others don't. I typically lurk alot but I hang out at that other 3go board
Anywho, a while back I was approached about putting my car in a book that has been written on the Rochester Quadrajet, more specifically modified ones. Because I still use my Quadrajet and all of the emmisions (minus the EGR valve) and because it has been modified it fit the bill perfectly. I still need to be chosen for the book but my chances are pretty good. They are going to use 4-5 different cars and I'm in the top 7 to be chosen from.
The fella that came to take these pics is actaully a frellance photographer for High Performance Pontiac! Which I thought was pretty KEWL! The pics took about 45 minutes and turned out spectacular! I'm very appreciative that he took them even if it doesn't make the cut.
I'm actually pretty stoked about them because I catch ALOT of **** for building a Berlinetta. I built the thing to be different while still being able to have my Camaro. I also built it with everything it came with such as Emmisions, Computer, A/C ect. I get sooooooo tired of seing hacked up 3rdgens it makes me sick!
Welp, all the haters can take a hike now!
I had to shrink these down considerably as the origionals were 4MB EA!!! so here they are!
All comments are welcome good or bad!

Berlinetta's seem to have that "classic" appeal that other 3rd gens don't seem to have, or at least not yet. (imo)
Looks way clean from here. Thanks for keeping the emmisions gear too.

yes to both. lots of rust, mismatched body panels, those hideous chrome fender lip things, huge dents, wheels that stick out 6" past the car, etc. etc.

wow, simply gorgious! really lovin it! gotta 1990 that i've ripped the gfx off of and have started the transformation into an 87 sport coupe. i can't stand the gfx cars once i've seen a few without them that look good.
yours, jbenge, and there is a green berlinetta with vette wheels floatin' around too that look incredible. i hope that oneday my 1990 rs/sc will make it into that crowd. i know my 87 is recognizable, and everything that is there works and the ac/computer stuff was ripped out, but it was done tastefully (ie, all extra wires removed, ac delete box fitted, etc.). but it's not quite of the same caliber, which is why i am building the 1990. no rust whatsoever to speak of on the car and the body is straight. the drivetrain is getting swapped next month, then it's off to paint. THEN, maybe i'll be with you guys.
i also have an 84 berly that a buddy of mine and i are restoring to it's former glory. it's his first thirdgen and we're excited about it!

actually, the red is an 87 sportcoupe LT, but it's getting trashed cause of the amount of rust on it (and the availability of finding another one in good shape in the area for cheap). the 1990 will recieve the front/rear bumper covers and the front fenders from the red car and will recieve all white paint the same week the final stage of transformation takes place. this car will probably only see the street one time before it gets painted. (the trip to the painter)
when decent bodies are available for cheap, it's easy to give up on one with lots of rust. of course the white car originally had gfx, so filling in the wholes from those is definitely a learning experience.

let's hear it for old school! That thing looks fantastic. I have a special place in my heart for the early camaros and birds. My bro used to own an 84 camaro V6 that we swapped in an L98 into.
I hope you get in that book. My car is also in a firebird book!! (for the iron duke).
later,

here is my bro's 84 S/C with IROCZ drivetrain:

I love that Camaro! It looks tough but sophisticated. And a bit understated.

ADV1, I just have to tell you that your car is definitely one of the nicest non-ground effect cars that I have ever seen. I have had this picture of it on my computer for years now, and I just love the way it looks. I hope my Sport Coupe will be as nice as yours one day, but I've still got a little ways to go . Us non-gfx guys are becoming few and far between, and I like it that way. Dare to be different, right?
If you dont mind, I would love it if you would send me the big versions of the first and second pics to put as my desktop wallpaper...I just love your car! My email addy is mjcroxton@gmail.com
Thanks,
Matt

Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you guys...
For those that want pics I will get them to you as soon as I can. I'm out on sales calls all of this week and it'll be hard to get to them until this weekend but I will get them to you!
Thanks for all of the compliments!
btw... Killjoy, I thought of that but for max exposure I purposesly left that "might" out of the title. I did however make sure I mentioned the real story right away. BTW, has your car ever been chosen for such a thing? :raz:
