Quick question About rims
im more of an engine person than body and wheels....i plan on getting some either 17 or 18 inch havent decided yet...maybe you guys can help me decide which size....but im pretty sure im settled on the new C6 rims.....to my understanding i just have to buy the adapters to get them to bolt up...and would any rim place carry those or do i need to get them online...any insight from you guys would be great...and lemme know if u think 17 or 18 inch would look better...as u can see from the sig its a 92 RS red with blk stripes...just wondering cuz im seeing alot of packages being sold as 18's up front and 19's on the rear...do u think the 19's in the rear would be to much...thanks guys

Don't get 19"s in the rear. Your best bet is probably 17's. Anything bigger will be too rough of a ride do to the thinner tires that will go on. Not to mention that if you hit a big bump it could bend the rim since there isn't much tire to cushion it.

the reason you are seeing 18 and 19 combos is becasue that is the stock size. It also depends on what you want to car to do. I wouldn't plan on doing a lot of drag racing with 18s. I do like the look of 18s but 17s are much more practical for me.

id go with 17s...best all around look...can be good on the curves and drag strip.
not as expensive
dont weight as much
not as harsh as a ride
lots of reasons why there better thens 18s...only looks is the reason to go to 18s

what do u guys think bout 2 different size rims...cuz i can get c6 rims for bout 600 with 17's up front and 18's in the back or does it make our cars look weird....u think itll be best to stay with one size all around...and also is there anywhere else to get the adapters to make them mount up...just tryin to get some feed back soo im not dissapointed when i get them lol

go with the same size of rim all the way around. Yes, it will look stupid otherwise.
I've heard 18s suck. They cause wheel hop badly.
Hawks third gen has 2" spacers. http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/in...l?v=1&pid=8921
Also check out ebay.
Make sure you get a least a 17x9 for the rear. Dont get anything less than 9" wide.
If it were me, i'd go with 17x9's or 17x9.5 all around. I'd go with the same tire all around too for rotating the tires. I'd go with 285/40/zr17 to have the tire 26" tall.

I think the 17f/18r combo looks pretty good on thirdgens. As long as you don't care about the weight of your wheels you really can't go wrong when you start looking at 17s and 18s.

Hi
Get the 18s. They just squeek in there if they in just right. Anything bigger is going to rub your wheel well when you go around a corner. You could also just play it safe with 17s.

and an 18/18 combo, rears are 295/35/18, fronts are 275/35/18 and they rub a bit,

and a 17/17 combo, rears are 275/40/17, fronts are 275/40/17 and these rub as well
