I am not the least bit jealous either before that gets said. I actually turned Rides on late and the first thing I saw was a nasty red, t-top, v-6 'bird and immediately thought "OMG, no way" I guess if you put enough crap, and I mean crap, on a car, someone is bound to take notice (tongue in cheek of course) and feature it in some manner.

Better on TV than in person? Ack! I have never seen it in person, and the internet has been more than enough for me. The car is a laughing stock on every other F-Body related board in existence.

'To each his own', and whatever, but damn that thing is a friggin' mess on the eyes. Yeah, congrats on getting positive reinforcement on national tv for that thing when that was the last thing you needed. That chic needs an intervention with that damn car.

 

To the poster above and those like him...

Have some respect. She's put more work into that car than you'll EVER put into yours. She's not out there talking about how fast her little bird is or how aerodynamic those gfx make her car. She does it for AUTO DETAILING AND APPEARANCE reasons and deserves the respect she has earned on this board. If she asked for your opinion - give it. But she didn't. This thread is a congrats to someone that worked hard - not your place to feel like you're making the world a better place by belittling somebody.

the car has had alot of work done. again, not my cup of tea, but congrats for all the work you put into it and gettin televised. I love RIDES

You should know, that in this forum, if you say anything 'bad', your either a hater, and a-hole, a *****, a purist ***** who hates anything other than stock, or something along those lines. I guess I think that some people just have enough taste, and common sense, to realise when something is actualy tacky. Although, this may not have been the thread to voice that opinion in.

Think about the difference between saying you dont like something and saying something is an abortion. I wouldn't consider someone a hater if they dont like something. But if they hate on it, then they're haters. And I say again, all haters should be slapped. Have some respect for other people.

I caught the episode last night too. I was so excited to see RAIF and Shannon on TV.

Sweet deal to see some thirdgen's getting props on Rides. They had a lot of sweet cars on that episode and to see the thirdgen get some air time is pretty awsome.

I totally agree. Her car is not my cup of tea but I very much respect the work and time she has in her car. It is very well done from what I saw it at the TA nationals last year.

And for those who expressed negative opinions... you're kinda off topic in this thread. And your opinions have all been heard before. I like some of what she's done and other parts I'd never consider. But I still have enough decency to allow someone to congratulate her without butting in and pointing out all the things I don't like about it.

Thanks for the congrats, guys! We didn't even know the show was going to be on last night and missed it, but a friend of mine called us this morning with the good news. Its been really tough keeping this quiet for the last few months.

I know the car isn't for everybody (I don't like everything about it and I helped her build it), but anyone who says it isn't well done from a craftsmanship/detailing aspect is a moron. If it was such a flaming pos, would it have been on Rides? Won the TA Nats? Won the World of Wheels? Won Super Chevy? I think most of the people who feel the need to bash her and her car are just jealous that a girl has gotten more recognition for her car than they will ever get, and obviously is far more skilled and determined to win than they are. She hasn't gotten all this recognition because she dumped a lot of money in this car; some of you guys have more in your engine swaps than she has in the whole car. Its because she works harder at it than anybody I have ever seen...if you have ever seen her at a show, you at least have some idea what I'm talking about. Tired of seeing her car? Quit your bitching and build something better...if you can.

BTW, the comments on the performance are getting a little old...its a V6 for Christ's sake, and it makes more RWTQ than any naturally aspirated 60 degree V6 on this site. Soon it will have the highest HP numbers as well. And it won't be NA for long, so the V8s better watch out

 

i know.. but dont listen to me... even half the V8 cars here are slow enough for me to complain.

Too much going on, and we haven't gotten to the mods we wanted to make before the Nats. We'll be there next year, hopefully for another 1st! Be sure to check out the orange 3rd gen TA from Arkansas, it makes her car look tame!

Well then thats a damn shame for her because I know alot of people here who have put HALF the amount of work into theirs and they look simply beautiful and classy. If she put double the work into it and thats what came out, then that should indicate her "skill" level. That car is a total abortion (to put in nicely).
The only reason you guys are defending and sucking her a$$ is because shes a female... there were a few guys that come to mine, whos car wasnt HALF as bad as hers, and you all scrutinized them to no end... resulting in THEM getting banned because they were driven to defend themselves. Friggin hypocrites I tell you.

all i know is that i respect the car for the work put into it but its definately something i wouldnt vote for if i was a judge at those shows. i just dont like the wheels or the red tint... other than that, i think its not bad

No, the reason is not because she's a girl. Here's the reason:

Anonymity of the Internet breeds the seemingly free will to RAIL on anything somebody doesn't like, with no regard for what went into it.

If your grandmother sewed you a g0d-awful shirt that matched the wallpaper in your hallway, you wouldn't tell her it's a pile of garbage to her face, now would you? No, you'd have some respect for the work she put into it. The reason the people on TGO are respectful is because many of us know her in person, or have talked to her personally. We have respect for her.

The rest of the f-body boards will throw puking smiley faces and submit her pics to laugh at **** . com all day long because it's easy to have no respect when you don't know somebody. I probably would not have locked this in spite of Raptor Pilot's comment, but this is quickly becoming a phallus-fencing contest for the same reasons I mentioned above. On top of that, this isn't exactly a rate-my-car thread either, just a chance to give Shannon some congrats.
