Voila! It's done...

Well this is the first time I'll be posting pictures of my car on this site. I just finished restoring it to more or less show room condition after a few years, and am very happy with the way it came out. Me and my dad did just about everything.

I know it needs to be lowered, so don't bother telling me. But washing cars on the weekends only takes you so far financially. Other than that, what do you think?

Awsome job. That car looks sweet! I don't think there's a spec of dirt on it!

Congrats on all the hard work. It really paid off.

The steering wheel cover is just to protect the wheel (I'm not too fond of it myself). But don't mess with the dice!

Its not carb, its TBI = "Throttle-Body Fuel Injection." Nice car BTW.

That really looks like it just pulled off the showroom floor! It reminds me just how good thirdgens looked when they were new since most of what you see now is either junk or varies a good bit from original.

Wow man its about time you got some pics of that thing!!!! Looks AWESOME. Seriously you've done a great job.

2 questions though...do you have the 25th anniversary badge that goes on the spoiler in teh back, and may i ask why you chose to go regular single snorkel intake as opposed to like an open element?

The car isn't an official "Heritage Edition" so I don't have the badge. And the intake is stock, except for the chrome lid. Besides, living in the Miami heat, I need to keep cool air going into the engine.

And thank you all for the compliments. They mean a lot, especially from you guys. I'll start looking for a new steering wheel cover tomorrow. But the dice stay.

Yeah my dad is a former Mr.Goodwrench and my uncle has a body shop, so I save a lot of money on labor.

You could probably paint your own car though, it's not that complicated with a little practice.

You can check my Car Domain site for before pics. They were taken right before the paint job though, so the car was already in good shape by then. Actually it was in great shape when we bought it, for it's age.

Eggsellent. Looks great. $1800 for restoration. I wish. My paint cost that much (single stage) since I didn't do it myself.

So good to see a restored 'stock' 3rd Gen. They will be the ones worth the money one day Loose the dice and the steering wheel cover for sure though.

GREAT job, well done!

$200 paint job? Nice, I payed $350 for mine and me and my neighbor did it.

BTW, where did you get your badges for $100? I need a new set.

Your car looks great! You really don't see too many Camaros that look that good anymore.

I have the same steering wheel cover, minus the dice. But I made a bowtie in shop class a couple years back that hangs from my mirror.

Re: Voila! It's done...

Geez, I haven't been on this site in quite some time. Well I still have the car, and she's doin' alright. I've already stressed the steering wheel cover is for function, not form. And the fuzzy dice stay! lol

It was two stage PPG paint. The factory GM Bright Red color (guys did a great job of matching it). And since those last pictures I've rebuilt the suspension with Hotchkis springs and half of the Spohn catalog. Gave the engine a slight rebuild (stock), and replaced those fogged up turn signals. Here are some pictures from a few months ago after a show.

And thank you once again for all the kind words.

Re: Voila! It's done...

this is amazing when i first saw it i thought wow, 6 grand into this at least and then I read 1800... thats crazy. you could turn one hell of a profit on this if you wanted. lol. but yeah, that price gives me hope that I can do mine without draining all of my money.
