some mods installed

Ok well some of you might recall that I bought this car seven or eight weeks ago... bone stock and 75,000 kms.

I started modding it right away, trying to do tasteful mods and things I could return to normal with stock parts if I wanted to.

So far I've done;

B&M Ripper shifter
poly urathane bushings throughout
eibach sportline springs
KYB GR-2 shocks and struts
WS6 sway bars (36mm and 24mm)
swapped a 9-bolt rear end with 3:42 gears
Eaton posi
added PBR rear disc brakes (drum before)
adjustable proportioning valve
Flowmaster 17233 cat back exhaust
removed cat converter
aluminum driveshaft
Street Glow Gold series purple neon
clear side markers
performance chip

uhm.. theres probably more that I've forgotten, I've been busy modding like a monster So far its very, very low.. but handles quite well. Woke it up a bit with the gears.. need more power~!

My next planned mods are mostly performance oriented;

aluminum L98 corvette heads (got)
1.6 roller rockers
LT4 Hot Cam (got)
headers (undecided, probably Edelbrock TES's)
Spohn sub-frame connectors
strut tower bar
panhard rod
lca relocation brackets
boxed tie rods
18" rims and tires

Should handle quite well after the next round of mods, hopefully done early next year. Then I'll start on a monster of a 'real' motor.

Heres some new pics of the lowered stance. Sorry the exterior of the car is absolutly filthy, but the weather has been horrible lately plus I took it for a road trip this weekend and racked on a thousand kms.

edit: added more to the mods done list.

Here is a side shot giving a good view of the lowered stance. Soo far I've been ok (marginally) at getting on and off my ferry that I need to cross daily. Being fall the water is low so there isn't a huge transition to get on and off the ferry.

Come spring time I know I'm going to be in trouble. I may have to install a set of Eibach Pro springs..

This last shot really shows how low the car is. Check out the front mud flap and front air dam, they're litterally in the weeds! Yes thats my front licence plate mounted in the center of my air dam.. it used to be visable. lol!

So let me know what you guys think.. how it is now, and what should I do next?

Good job bro!
Looks like you are going the same route as me
I would go with the dirty work first, then set the car off with the exterior goodies.

3.42?
jking

I say skip the engine mods (im assuming the car runs great as it sits?) and build yourself that 'monster' of a real motor. Go ahead and get headers, but i wouldnt suggest the edelbrock TES, especially if you are going to build a stomper of an engine.

This is why i say that... It's up to you tho, ur car

looks great...i love black irocs...and you got a nice list of mods going.

If you do anymore exterior mods id go with a 3" cowl, new parking lights, and remove mudflaps. Other then that you really cant ask for more from that car its looks awesome as is.

keep us updated how the car is.

thanks for the comments so far guys.. its certinally been an adventure.

3:42 bad?? I don't seem to mind them soo far.. nice change from the 3.08 stockers..

I had intended to go with 3:73's but I had my mechanic inspect a ten-bolt rear end I picked up with the 3:73 rear end and he discovered the posi was shot.

I found a nice 9-bolt rear end with 3:42's and PBR rear discs for next to nothing so I brought it over for inspection. The rear had previously been rebuilt with an eaton posi and all looked good. he reset the backlash and whatever else and now I'm rolling on it.

so... anyone want to buy a set of 3:73's for a 10 bolt?

thanks for the link on the headers.. looks like I'll keep shopping around.

I'm really considering a T56 swap sooner rather then later... double over drive is something I'd love to have.. and it would make swapping in a LSx much easier down the road.

I'll keep limping along with my wimpy LB9 305 for the time being. One thing is certain, that LT4 hot cam and aluminum L98 heads would sure wake it up!!

yes that my licence plate and it was soo reflective with the flash that I didn't have to do anything to block out the letters and numbers.

I've been contimplating on tinting the back window.. perhaps 20%. It is illegal to tint the side windows here, but I've done it before and I think it would look hot on this black iroc.. perhaps at 35% or less...

what do you guys think, tint the windows - yes or no?
