I feel the same as JB22, that car is going to be worth quite a few bucks someday being that it is a convert. and since it is the last year irocs were made. Especially with only 9300 miles on it.

I'm 50/50 on pullng out the motor on a 9000 mile car. Driving the car at all pretty much kills the price anyhow, so who cares? If I had that car I'd just end up selling it. You can't drive a car like that and keep it's value.
My question is why pay so much? There HAS to be better deals out there with or without an engine. Seems kinda like a waste.

Very nice car... although I am a fan of stock vehicles... It can always be put back that way since you will still have the engine
Go for it!

I won't critisize you for your decisions, but I'm really curious why you paid such a premium price for a low milage car if you plan on swapping the engine.

beautiful car man but honestly i definently would not destroy that car and drop the 383 in. Why not a straight nice body V6 car? I mean its all your choice.
But by putting that motor in ur prolly gonna tear up the tranny and the rear...both which are stock and got 9k miles on them. Its not worth it to me to do that to a mint stock car.
Anyway beautilful car it really is rare being a 1990 convert last year of the iroc do what you please.
Go ahead and just enjoy the car thats all im gonna say.

well if i do the engine swap i will be swapping all the other stuff from my 90 iroc convertible as the trans and rear cause i do want to keep low miles on the orignal engine, trans, and rear and would not want to see it get messed up.But i am kind of undecided now if i should even swap engines. i will be thinking about for about three months before i make a final decision. I really just wanted a done car that i can just do a quick swap.but we will see things go when it comes to my house.

If that car is truely a 9K mile car, it should appraise out higher than what you paid. If it were my money, I would keep it bone stock and never drive it....trailer it to shows......but what fun is that

Tear the **** out of it...drop in your 383 and have some fun man!
I have gotten alotof **** for what I have done to my car..cause it is a 'rare" (1990 with 5 w speed). Who gives a rats ***! It's not like these cars will be worth anything like the original 1969's are now worth. And if they are ever going to be worth that much, it will take a long **** time....and by then, we will all probably be driving electric cars.
In any case, you bought the car to drive..to have fun..not to look at or drive like a granny!

If you have some extra time could you please measure the stock ride height from fender edge to the ground on all 4 corners and post it for us to know? I think alot of us would appreciate it, kinda hard to find out what the stock ride height is because so many of us have worn high mile cars.
Nice car BTW, the lowest mile 3rd gen I've ever driven in was 43K and I didnt end up buying it because of funds. 9K must be great, just like it was from the factory. I bet it has no squeaks/rattles!!
