C5 5Spokes
I came across an awesome deal that I could not walk away from today. My friends father owns a pretty nice C5 and he was going to send his rims to get them redone because the clearcoat is all nasty and the bling ratio was way off.
He decided to buy rims that were already redone and hed the old ones lying around with some runflat tires.
He saw that i was a good friend and decided he would sell them to me for 100 Dollars. Yes 100, plus tires.
I have some questions about these rims.
I know the lug pattern seems different and they would fit my mothers 93 Z28 no problem, but what spacers would i need for my car?
Do i have enough space in the fender well for these wide a$$ rims?
How can i refinish these rims? The clearcoat is peeling oxidized.
The fronts are smaller than the rear so how would this look with stock suspension.

you probably have these ones,

2" front and back should fit fine.
To redo the rim, strip off the clear and then either polish it or clear it again.

aren't the huge, easy-to-rip-off, center caps on the C5 Y2K rims made out of plastic? If you polish the rims, it might be hard to match it with center caps? Then again, it might not be...

Anyone have any info on removing clearcoat without hurting the polished parts? The clearcoat is in pretty bad condition pitted in certain areas.

They are a great looking wheels, but look BAD on a thirdgen with stock tiny brakes as the openings in the wheels are huge.
You would need spacers all around, which between that and tires pretty much defeats the point of cheap wheels.

I found an old digital camera, so i took some pics. I dont have these on the car yet but i think i will send them into a place for like $190 to get them refinished.

I understand these pics are so horrible but you might be able to see what i mean.
Hey i found a pic of our first camaro on the memory card.
