Project Turbo Bird Update
The boys at stenodperformance.com and Mike M. have done a great job with the pipes and intercooler!
I still need to clean it up a little but I am gonna coat the crossover, turbo and headers this winter. Also have to take care of some other minor clean up stuff. Just gotta run the fuel lines/pump, trans cooler and tune and it will be on the road!
But I thought so far so good.

Looks like Stenod has done a great job once again. Are you planning on running AC? how does clearance look with the downpipe under the K-member? What motor mounts? Also for your upper radiator hose you could get a reproduction TTA hose from www.johnsperformance.com so that way it's all one piece. Did Stenod make that MAF pipe? If so I think I'm gunna have to contact them, I know some people who would be interested in that and that nice downpipe as long as clearance all looks good and you can still run AC.

Someone pointed out that I might want to relocate that oil filter as well since its close to the downpipe.
Yes I plan on running A/C but I have to have custom lines ran. The clearance looks ok so far but we will see once its on the road. The motor mounts are from johnsperformance.com (the 89 TTA ones). I would get an 89 TTA repro. hose but they are so freakin expensive. I think I might just wait. ($100+ bucks for a hose!)
Mike Mizzi made the Downpipe and the Maf Pipe. Stenod made anything to do with the intercooler and QC Coatings did the coating work.
We are guessing mid 500's at the fly. But we won't know till the tuning is done.
That 91 nose doesn't really have a way to show off that mount, it was hard enough to find a good spot for it where air can get to it.

care to elaborate how you mounted the intercooler with the 91 nose? thats the biggest problem i have with forced induction on my car, no airflow. which leads me to air to water...

Coulda saved yourself an immense amount of time and money and made a reworked stocker or aftermarket IC work in stock mount location vs. huge dollars on the frt mount.
What are u doing for radiator airflow and directing air for IC.
Curious to see how you fair in street driving it.
My 383 is a small cammed, low compression built for a turbo in future :-) My plan for intercooling it was run the piping to the sides and run two IC's, one in each corner and than connect them with a straight pipe thru the frt. Seems like it woks alot better on our cars than the frt mounts end up doing, least for overheating conditions.
Just got the heads and junk back on my TTA :-) They accidentally lifted :-)
Take it that was a GN motor originally by the exhaust/header/crossover . Whats done to the engine itself?
later

Lookn good! That crossover pipe looks like it hangs pretty low. Maybe its just the angle of the pictures. I'm not sure about clearance but you might want to consider dual radiator fans from a IROC or Z28 as well as a wonderbar. Both could be had from the yard for pretty cheap (but def go for new replacement fan motors). This car was originally a L03 right?

I am defiantly considering the dual fans since it is gonna be tuff with that 91 nose on there. We will see how it goes since this will be a street driven car.
Stenod and his team are very good at what they do though and he said for a front mount on my car, that was the best place of air flow. So we will see.
The motor is an 87 GN motor bored .020 over
-208/208 Camshaft
-Billet Center / Front Main Caps
-Ported/Polished Stock Iron Heads
-Port Matched Intake (Thermal Coated)
-Diamond Forged Pistons (.020) (Thermal Coated)
-High Volume Front Timing Cover
-ARP Bolts and studs
combustion chambers were also thermal coated. Rest of the mods are listed at my website below.
Yeah, there isn't much left on my suspension that I want to do but that "wonderbar" was on there. But from the looks of things, the intercooler pipes are blocking the area where it would normally go. I would have to do some measuring but I am not 100% sure that the wonder would fit where its suppose to go by the swap bar.
And yes, the car orginally had an LO3 in it. And nothing goes as far past the Kmember as the downpipe but the true test of clearance will come when I have to go over the speedbump outside my apt.
I still need to put my electric cut out in there and my unchambered muffler and then the exhaust will be done.

What valve springs did you use? I sure hope you replaced the stockers others they will be quickly wearing themselves out. Why did you go with such a small turbo with the work you have done?

I wasn't aware the Te45a was a small turbo?
I wasn't gonna put on a PT-70 or anything bigger like that just because this is a street driven car and I figured the Limited Engineering Te45a was a pretty good turbo that provided streetable performance, while still capable of good power. But I wouldn't call the Te45a a small turbo by any means. 950cfm, 63mm wheel, P-trim, capable of 680hp and mid 10's. I am not sure what kind of numbers I am gonna put down but we will see in a few weeks maybe.

Sorry got turbo sizes mixed up. I was thinking of a TE44. Looks really nice, make sure to get some videos once you get it out on the road.
