would this make you nervous?

Getting ready to store my car for the winter... check out the image to see what I'm parking it next to. I'll put a car cover on it and not to worry, I stacked the wood myself and its not going anywhere (I HOPE!)

I was considering putting the car on jackstands, is it nessessary? I don't want to have my new springs 'take a set'.

Any other suggestions before I park it (other then the normal stuff)? Thanks!

Here is another image showing off a nice reflection.

edit: that first shot reminds me of how much I want to change my hood louvers for a nice set of black hood blisters.. anyone got a set they'd like to get rid of?

Well, it LOOKS very sturdy, but it would definately scare the hell outta me. If you are planning on using that wood this winter as I guess you are, it'd be just like me to grab a piece or two, turn the wrong way and drop it or have it slip outta my hands or some such. It doesn't look possible, but if there was some way to brace the wood to a wall or put up some immovable barricade or something. I'm just being paranoid though, if it were my car and my stack of wood, lol.

The only thing I would worry about are the MICE and BUGS that the wood is going to attract. They just may decide that your car makes a great home for the winter.

Looks Sturdy but...

It also looks like a great home for mice.

And I would constantly worry about falling logs.

Ever thought of leaving a giant size tin of wood glue upside down on the top of the pile??
That should give peace of mind.

if your that worried that its gonna fall, why dont you find an old thick comforter to place over the hood, or even go buy a nice thick piece of foam so there wont be any chance of it happening. not that it looks like its going to happen but accidents do happen and your going to be smacking yourself next spring if anything does happen and you didnt take the time and little tiny bit of money to place somthing protective over the hood.

hell yes i'd be nervous.... funny picture though.

what's not funny is if you had classic insurance to cover the value of that car and they happen to stop by without notice to check on the car (which they can do).

You could hang or put a cargo net for trucks around the firewood. or build a rack or wall....

The jacks are not required but it doesnt hurt. I had my car stored outside the first 2 winters without jacks and without a problem. This will be the 2nd winter with stands and 1st with new springs, Im sure it helps with the springs but also prevents flat spots on the tires. And mice can be a problem, the first year I had a nest inside my aircleaner assembly

Wow, that's some nice looking firewood! Brings back the memories of growing up in Minnesota in a house heated entirely with wood. Did you split this by hand? What kind of wood is it?

I'd cover the car, I'd be afraid of squirrels running on the car and scratching the paint.

put plywood up against the wood, then the worst that will happen is the plywood (large surface area) will come to rest on your covered car.

as oposed to the tip of a log (small surface area) coming to rest on your passanger floor after breaking your windshield and denting your dashpad.

I'd be slightly nervous, and I'd prolly take the 5 mins to put it on jackstands...
