Headlight eyebrows

I know, I know, it's a civic inspired mod, but I thought this looked kind of interesting maybe some of you will think it's cool..

You may have seen these headlight "eyebrows" on civics before and I think they would add a different, meaner look to our cars if someone made them although it would probably look cheap, just throwing this out there.

not sure who's car this is..

I think I have a few pics like that in the gallery... i'll see if I can find them.. that looks pretty sick, but unfortunately, we don't have protruding headlight lenses. Doing this would likely require some welded metal to the hood...

This one almost looks feasible. I've not a spare hood or welding skills to do it though.

Heres another ... interesting one

Some other stuff like that in the photshop/ideas portion of the gallery.

These would be just like the headlight blackout covers, but rather only covering a small portion of the headlight buckets.

But yes I agree it would look better with a modded hood and front clip.

looks sick... i might do that when i put a new hood on the car since mine is all messed up... btw molding the front bumper cover and hood isnt possible because the bumper and the hood are made of 2 different things... so thats out of the question but a hood extention or maybe something that is put in the headlight bucket would absolutely work.

Granted, if whomever p'shopped that white one had bothered to leave a line for hood clearance.. it might seem as though it had been done.. I'd like to give this a try one day.

Well i just took some Electric tap and taped 2 strips on my head lighting and they looked good. Sound Chezzy and Cheap but it turned out decent. you could also maybe paint the top part that you want a eyelid.i did it nice w/ one piece and it looked good. i had a accident and didn't take a pic. Just run in your tool box and try it.. it takes 2min. It makes the car look aggisive. and if you dont like it -PEEL IT OFF-cant be any easyer.

That look is alright on cars that have headlights that sit flush with the body. Thirdgen Firebirds and Camaros don't have that and all of these photoshops make these cars look pretty stupid. It just won't work on our cars and look good.

I think at least for black cars, you could just purchase a set of headlight blackouts and fab them to the desired shape. Then paint some extra black paint on the underside to prevent any light from shining through. I'm not sure how the blackouts are mounted so I'm not sure as to if that's feasible or not.

Yes I'd say this look does look pretty silly on the birds but can look good on camaros. Of course custom fabrication would be the only way to make it not look too cheap.

Has anyone considered the fact that this mod will likely negatively impact the headlight's function? This works okay on a Civic because the light source is flush with the front end of the car and the 'eyelid' only really covers empty space in the lense. With the Camaro headlight assembly inset so far, having a piece hanging down an inch or two infront of the light would significantly reduce the amount of light projected (considering that the light exits the lense at a radially outward angle). The only real way to find out whether the lights are useable is to try the mod I guess...how'd that tape work out in the dark?

On another note, does that white photoshopped camaro not look like an angry fish to anyone else? I personally prefer my car to not make faces at me

What about gettnig a set of blackouts, cutting them, and just not painting them?

+1

Almost always does. Though I know someone who put them on his round WRX lights and it looked surprisingly good.
