Detailing

Hey,

I have an 87 iroc z that's black . . . last sunday i spent about 4+ hours outside scrubbing parts of the engine to get off some oil and other build up. . . i was woundering if there is anything outthere that works real good on the runners/plenum to get the dirt off good. . . it kinda has a darker tint to it. . . so far i have only tried soap and water but is there somthing else out there that is better . . . and is there any way to remove the oil "stain" on my valve covers. . . its kinda brownish even though there is nothing on them.

sorry for the long post but i am kinda pissed off today cause itz raining and i spent 3 hours yesterday buffing my rimz

From: pgh,pa,
try Eagle1 a-z all wheel cleaner, and then some mothers gold mag wheel polish, it worked real well for me.

I know what you mean, pred1tor83.. my plenum looks dirty. No matter what I use, it won't give me that "clean aluminum" look. The wheel polish started to polish the raised sections of the aluminum! (Yipe!)

I either use WD-40 (surprise!) or brake cleaner (evaporates quick) on my valve covers.

I have to go with cobrakiller and say use simple green. That stuff is awesome! Spray it on, let it sit for about 10 min, then come back and wash it off. Works amazing.
