Lighting question

I need a quick little answer here, and I wasn't sure where to post it, but I figured this worked. I bought a set of the Blazer stock style replacement fog lamps, but the Blazers are driving lamps. I have 100W bulbs in them, but now I get flashed all the time so I am now in the habit of driving around w/ them off until there are no cars coming. But anyway, my question is if I paint the top 1/3rd of the inside of the glass silver will that block the beam enough that it will get it down on the road nice and low?
They are aimed down, I can see the "pinical" of the beam and its on the road barely a couple feet from the car.
Thanks a ton,
Douglas

Maybe it's just me, but if your brights are jammed on, maybe they're the reason you get flashed, not the fog lamps.

Hahaha, I wish.... I drove around for about 3 months and nobody ever flashed me.... and I only have one!!!
Seems like people are kinda jerks.... they'll flash me when my driving lights blind them, but hey, they won't flash me when I have a headlight out.... jerks...

Yeah, I know what you mean.

Maybe you could try GTS. I know they make blackouts for a few brands of aftermarket fog lamps. That might dim it down a bit.

I got pulled over twice in the same one mile stretch by two different cops for driving with my high beams on once. But my headlights were out and I had the replacements in the back seat that I'd just picked up from the 24 hour Wal-Mart, so they both let me go. Cops are jerks if you ask me, hehe. (Not all, but a healthy chunk)

Yeah, know whatcha mean.
I am not looking for a black out look, personally I like the clean look of the very clear driving lights... my girlfriend even noticed I had changed them when I drove up for the first time.
I guess I'll give them a shot of silver paint and see how it goes. I really don't want to dim them because Firebirds have horrid headlights! They are so dim its not even funny, expecially on my car....
Thanks,
Douglas

This kinda cracks me up. No offense but $20 foglights from Walmart make so little difference that with your headlights on they might as well not be there. If your front headlights are ****ed up then its just common courtesy for someone to give you a flash so you notice and correct it. Disconnect the fogs or turn them off for a few weeks and check.

just put a banner in the front window that says keep flashing I'm reloading.. that'll make them think about it.. hehe
I get flashed sometimes too which confuses the hell out of me seeing I've only got stock lights and I've made sure that they aren't aimed up.. wierd people drive these days.

Drew, no offense, but you haven't seen my headlights... but since you feel this way I will show you what the difference is. I used my digital camera to take pictures from inside the car. It is a not a perfect representation, but lets get your opinion correct...

Headlights and fogs

Headlights only

Fogs only

Drew, care to retract that statement?

could it be the fact that instead of 2 bright lights, there are now 4. The blazers are decent, and they can light more road than the stock ones, but they shine a different beam. just get new headlights, fix the hi-beams, and be happy.
