well this is the first time i have posted a pict of my car. just wonderin if this blue is a stock color because i cavent saw any like this stock before.

 

Although there was a light blue like that availible on irocs, and an even lighter blue availible for firebirds, that doesnt seem to be it. I could be wrong though. The Camaro blue looks more like a metallic flake light blue color, and the firebird blue looks alittle lighter. Could just be that your car is faded or something. Someone will know for sure though...

EDIT: also, i just noticed that your car is a 1991 and im almost positive that there was no blue color similar to that in 1991 for either the firebird or camaro. I have a 1992 and i know there were no blue camaros in 1992. I think 1991 might be the same. The closest thing was teal...which your car obviously isnt. Its probably a repaint, but it looks like someone was attempting to reproduce either the Iroc blue or the maui blue of the firebirds.

 

I think its a repaint. I havent seen a blue like that. I know a kid who had a 91 RS but his blue was lighter (like a baby blue) Also notice the grill. That should be black.. I think its been repainted.. Also you have a Iroc Z hood with the louvers.. A reg 91 RS has nothing on the hood. Just a plain hood, no blisters no louvers, NADA..

 

That is a nice clean looking car you have there. I believe that color is stock but not that common

the guy i bought it from said it was a repaint but he said it was a stock color but he lied about other stuff with the car so i dont know if he was tellin the thuth. ive had the carpet up in places and the little over-spray matches to an extent

 

i knew the hood was an iroc hood the car was prevoulsy in a front accadent and they put it on before the repaint

that's a stock color but i dont know if it was in 91. I have a friend with a stock 88 RS and it is the exact same color. Except her clear coat is peeling and all that nice stuff.

 

Looks like medium Maui blue- I could be wrong though...

 

Nice car!!, If you really want to know on the orginal paint color, look in the back storage compartment, (open trunk lid and off to the left). There should be a sticker in there that has the paint code.

My 85 IROC was that color. Is it in fact a 91 or a older camaro with 91 ground effects/rims *note the hood blisters*

 

I hate to be the one to say this but have you verified the VIN? I think there is a possibility your car is not a 91. Considering the guy you bought it from is a liar, the color was stock on earlier year cars, your car has a hood that came on earlier year cars, and a 91-92 GFX swap is easy and you saw overspray by the carpet. The interior would be a giveaway, but maybe the guy was sly and also swapped some interior stuff. Maybe I'm paranoid?

 

the overspray was under the carpet the title says 1991. it has the 91 gauges an the air bag and the 91 rims. so no need to be paranoid

 

Doesn't the sprayed grill vents give away that it is a repaint? Shouldn't that be black?

Hell, I don't know Camaros but can spot a repaint (I think).

 

Repaint. This is a 91 RS off of Google. As far as I can tell, it is all stock.

 

I already mentioned about the grill and how it should be black. And the guy did admit it was repainted..

 

That color existed in 1991, mine was that color when I bought it.

It looks to me like they put an IROC hood on there though, which may be the reason there is overspray, from when the hood was painted.

The color is called Maui Blue Metallic, as far as I know.
