where can i get tripoli and white rouge
just like it says, also where do i get the buffing wheels from?
I found some premium stripper at menards that is made for taking paint off of metal, so that should work to get the clear coat off the rims. I was told to get aircraft stripper, couldn't find that, so I bought this, its made by BIX i believe.
searched menards, walmart, kmart and an automotive store for tripoli and white rouge, can't seem to find it. Where do I get it from?

I had the same problem. Found it at Sears in the hardware dept. They had a kit for like $10 that has about 5 different compounds (for progressively finer polishing).

I just picked some up at sears too. It came in a 4 pack with 4 big bricks of emery, tripoli, white rouge and red rouge for about 5 bucks.

another quick question...the rims are just weathered, not so much pitted and corroded. Is it neccessary to strip the stock clearcoat off them, or do I just start polishing them without using the stripper?

yes strip the clearcoat or the polishing wont do anything at all. the compounds need to be on the bare metal to polish. Also heres a good site for all kinda of products and info on buffing/polishing.

okay sweet. Sears was a no go, so nobody in this town carries anything, I'll just have to order it. No big deal. I think I have the knowledge to do it now. Thanks for the help guys.
