Hood paint scheme idea...

This is just a crazy idea, I saw it done on a GTA hood, and thought about it for a Ram Air.

I'm getting the ASCD Ram Air hood, and of course it will be painted to match my 'bird, black. What about the idea of leaving the top of the ram scoop, like the entire top surface of the raised area, a primer or flat black?

All opinions welcome, I revel in my white trash lineage.

it'll look like crap.

If you spend the money on that hood, and get it painted, why in the world would you want part of it to be more dull, or primer?

primer looks like crap. Isnt the purpose for primer to prep the car for painting?
Besides, i know the hood is fiberglass, primer is porus so it'll accelerate corrosion!

Paint it all a beautiful glossy black!

Hmm, that sounded undecided, shall I put the mark in the "good idea" box or the "bad idea" box? hmm...

I'm going with the really bad idea box. If you leave the top flat black, it will look like you spray painted it and would look unfinished.

I understand the look you are trying for here, but it would work much better on a different color car.

Good idea... bad color...

I'm having flashbacks of 'cudas and t/a challengers in yellow, orange or sublime with flat black accents. It would look good with a bright color, but not w/ gloss black.

In 1997 there were like 40 Hurst/Ligenfelter Firebirds produced. They were black with gold on the top of the scoop. I saw them in Car&Driver.
