Ok, here is the deal, I am in the process of redoing my car, I have the motor pulled out, painted engine bay black and everything. I took the a/c out and I am now debating on what to do with the heater. I went to the junkyard a few days ago and picked up a non a/c box from an s-10 for 10$. I am now debating on rather or not to just not put heat in it. I go some polished stainless at school and I am thinking about just cutting out 2 sections of it, (one for the circle where the blower motor was and one square for where evaporator was.) And that will make the engine easier to work on and it will look a little cleaner. I will buy a heater that you plug into the cigerette lighter if I dont put heat in it. What are you opinions on it?

After I removed my AC box, it felt like a huge increase in engine compartment space and made things a lot easier to get to. I think unless you live down south that you're going to want your heater to work. You have a good idea with the stainless. Here is what I did. Not the best looking, but it's functional and was pretty easy to do. It's just sheet metal and caulk.

those heaters don't do anything. since you're already set on what you're doing why are you asking? i put in a non-a/c heater setup in my car and on the cool summer nights when humidity is high it's nice to not have a fogged windshield.

Yea, do that and watch your car go up in a ball of flames. My friend done that to his car and there was nothing left of it after the fire dept. put the fire out.

If its cold enough to snow inthe winter where you are and you are going to drive it all year round do not get rid of the heat. Those little heaters stink you will be cursing the day you took your heat out. That being said, if thats what you are going to do i would be interested in buying the non a/c heater box off of you. pm me if you interested.

Hey guys, I have a question, but, any time anyone of you give an answer or suggestion, trying to help me out and avoid mistakes others have made and learned from, I will just repeat the stupid idea I had in the first place. So keep those suggestions coming!!

I live in San Diego and trust me, it can get damn cold here i nthe morning, CREEPING MOIST COLD, due to the fog, or as we call it here, marine layer.

Point is, if California weather can require a heater, heck do NOT get rid of heat

One thing to freeze your own nuts off, but another thing to have a chic bitch about her bootay being cold
