haha there wasnt that much snow, like a 1/2 inch or so of lake effect, but it sucks when you got to lay in it and wrench on your car, so i waited til a bit later when the sun came out and melted it off, just had to lay on a tarp bc the ground was soaked, but really i am pleased with the new look, especially at night, i just got to go out and get some silverstars now, no rush though, as the car wont b back on the road til april.

I got some clear side markers on eBay... but be prepared to shell out a few bucks. I've been told they're not DOT legal so you can't find them just anywhere. I don't know, just what I've heard. But I got my side markers on eBay.

Sounds great. Wish I would have posted this sooner so you could have saved a few bucks- I found a seller on e-bay who routinely lists the APC wiring harness at 99 cents with no reserve. Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-A...QQcmdZViewItem Hope this helps a few of you save a couple $$. - Josh

i bought the blue silverstar bulbs that flash orange for the parking lights to match the headlights. i also bought a t5 for it and i have a new rearend to put in at the same time so those are going to be two major upgrades back to back. i wanted a t56 but at this time i just cant afford it. im trying to find a nice set of billet emblems that i like that arent way expensive i want individual letters like sinisters car but no one is offering that that i can find. after that idk its up in the air. im still in high school and i already blow all my money on the car so im sure when i get some real income coming in it will be ALOT bigger badder and sexier.

Yes I bought the APC harness. I also bought a streetwires fuse block and some 6 ga wire. I am having trouble finding a connector to attach to the battery for the 6ga wire, plus I am worried about it looking like a hack job.

quick question... did any of you guys have to cut out some of the metal behind the actual light? its the round hole that the headlight wire comes through? these new headlights i got dont seem to want to sit in there good so i think i have to make that hole a good bit bigger so the light will sit all the way in there.

Yeah, you need to cut out a larger circle on the backs of the metal housings in order to get the headlights to fit. Quick and easy if you have a dremel tool. By the way, your car looks a thousand times better than the one I had in high school (87 Camaro SC 2.8).

is that on the 'ebay' housings? ...because as far as I know, they're a direct fit into the hella housings.

Not the e-bay lights/housings, but the actual metal housing brackets off the car that will contain the headlights. I'm not sure if all aftermarket light housings require the mod. Most probably do in order for the larger connectors on the back of them to slide through the holes in the metal housing brackets on the car.

Which ones did you buy? Where from? And how much? Were they direct replacements or did you have to buy the conversion harness or whatever? Thanks!

wow i didnt know these lights were going to be such a pain in the ***... i ended up having to pull all the metal housing behind the lights out and cut them out, that was after i used a dremel on them with them still on the car working around my brand new paint. so ya im still not done but if i run into any more problems im not going to be happy these should have been made alot closer to the stock headlights considering they are selling them as a bolt on for camaros....

so am i getting this right? the ones that camaroguy21 posted are direct replacements?
and ebay lights take modifying?

lol ya i have no parking lights or turn signals in. i took this picture and thought it looked pretty cool and i considered tinting some stock ones but i really like the look of these new lights.

i dont know about camaroguy21's lights but these need ALOT of modifications to make them work which pisses me off b/c they are selling them as replacements for stock lights i mean they could have made them closer to stock specifications... i should finish em up tonight or tomaro though and then i will post pictures.

Gr89RS- Car looks great!

dubcity- My lights were not direct replacements. I had to cut out larger circles in the back of the metal bracket headlight brackets on my car in order to accomodate the larger connectors. You also have to remove the metal headlight rings and most likely the metal bracket headlight brackets themselves in order to then slide the new lights in. This part you would have to do anyway, even if you were just putting in new stock headlights. The problem here is that if you have nicely painted headlight pockets you could very easily scartch or even crack the paint.

maroon88iroc- Those are E-bay headlights right? Which seller did you buy them lights from?

This is the first time that I've stumbled across this particular thread. Lost of good information here and I'm definitely doing the headlight AND the parking light mods.

Can anyone post a picture of the housing themselves? Also, can anyone post pictures of anyplace you've had to make a modification to get the headlights to fit? I'm sure that I could just play it by ear, but any previews I can get are always good.

Thanks!
