Go to another dealer and refuse to give the one that gave you an attitude any further business. Also, call the dealership and ask to speak to the manager or the owner. Inform them of what happened and more than likely, unless you were a jerk and they just don't want to help you anymore, the guy will lose his job. It's his job to look up parts and numbers for the consumer. How do they expect you to have all the part numbers you might need? If you can't go to another dealer, try calling any GM dealer and ask if they can help you with Pontiac parts. They have the info on the computer.

SHOW YOUR *** !!! Don't put up with that crap, man ... bark BIG and, if they make you, follow it with bite. "You're WHAT? ... Refusing to DO YOUR JOB and SELL parts to me? I wonder how your regional service manager would feel about that? ... Can I speak to your manager, please? ..." etc. It doesn't matter how old you are or anything else. Seems to me you'll probably end up spending MORE at the parts counter than some stodgy 40 year old with a brand new Vette, right? DEMAND that you be treated properly and stand your ground. Good luck ...
