lol, you don't seem too proud of what you've done. Probably a sign that you shouldn't have done it.

Nice Third Gens don't need the added attention, they get noticed anyway!

its very weird seeing any type of aftermarket parts on a thirdgen that are also on civics/ and or 4 banger with 5 inch exhaust.

Take them off. Not worth the money I'm sure. Get your money back. The car looks good without them- no joke.

i like them and i dont think it is rice.... i think if you have an aftermarket bleacher for a spoiler, or stickers all over the car, neons inside the car, painted interior, or anything like that then that too me is ricerish. but i dont think a set of underglow neons are to me think they look cool at night time and it is another appearance mod to do. i guess yall will be happy to hear that my set was broke during shipping so i wont be able to get them on any time soon...

edit i just saw the pictrue... those things arent bright at all id be talking to the company.

In matter of taste, there is no right or wrong.

If you like the way it looks, go for it! With a car that looks like maroon88iroc's, it's hard to argue "ugly." Heck both cars look great.

yea, some of you should really take a moment to think about what you consider to be *rice*.....cant count how many cars Ive seen at shows that use underglow for adding something to the car

...just because you see it on an import doesnt classify it as rice.....or all you f-body people running turbo's are floating with that crowd - get over it

turbos were on american cars before they were on any japanese cars. And Im pretty sure they were on European cars before that.

Its called customizing, as in changing the appearance from the stock look. I dont think that makes it rice. Besides werent neons on american cars before japanese cars too?

Yes.

I wasn't bashing the kit, I just don't see why you would put something on your car you aren't proud of...then proceed to make a thread about it.

Edit: Id rather not have this thread go to **** over some childish whining:

That really doesnt have anything to do with the point Im addressing,
fact of the matter is, people call out certain characteristics of a car as being rice - for the sole reason that they are a stereotype of foregin cars. It doesnt matter who had them first.

neons, engine components, nitrous.....geez the list goes on of things that must be rice because the kid down the street has it on/in his honda

^ thats the crap Im talking about.

If 89IrocZ350TPI say its for ricers it's for ricers. That's his opinion and he's just stating what he thinks. There's nothing wrong with that! Personally I agree, but if thats what floats maroon88iroc and crazyL boats well then more power to them. Oh and it sounds like we're having a debate not childish whining!

i dont see why everyone bashes neons.... i mean ya they are on import cars but that doesnt make them unacceptable to have on a thirdgen. i dont even see why people bash import cars.. some of them look pretty nice i mean i can understand making fun of the performance side of the cars b/c they are in fact economy cars, but some of them do look pretty nice and i am 17 i could have been stuck with an import but im lucky my parents let me get this car instead of a slow import car to start off with.

but crazyL you did kinda ask for it with the way you stated your title and your first post.

Just my opinion. I am not trying to offend anyone here. There are some really good imports out there. So I am not bashing imports in anyway. Not all imports are ricers lol. I got to drive my buddys 300 hp STI and i though it was awesome. Anyway back to the topic.

I knew this was coming from someone....cant have any thread go into depth about contrasting arguments without someone being too liberal about opinions and feelings

....people state their opinons, and you're right about that....but saying that there's nothing wrong from doing so is not true. Without getting to philisophical here- everything is based on opinons....even facts - so we all know who's stating their opinon and for what reason....if someone chooses to argue a point made, why call them out on it?

Not to stick up for imports but there is a big diffrence between a "tuner" car and a "*****". Usually you will find the tuner has much more knowledge about his or her car and acually is in the pursuit of better speed handling ect. I will show a lot more respect to a "tuner" as some of them acually perform pretty good for being what they are. A ***** is just a poser car nothing more and a majority of their owners have no clue how a car works and operates. I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion thats what makes hot rodding great!

I dont really think any of our cars are classified as "muscle car's" anyways since our cars were built post mid 70's era. But if we get to the definition of HOT ROD your going to find it saying any vehicle that is modified. So really were all hot rodders just of diffrent sorts.

I'll speak up for that, I would totally build a tuner cause I think some look pretty cool. I just happen to own a Camaro that I love very much. Anyway, it's a little easier to work ona V-8.

crazyL - from what I've personally seen true neons are much brighter then led kits however your kit does seem to be awefully dull. Ensure you check/redo your transformers' ground.. a weak ground will give you dull illumination. Also streetglow has an excellent forum, you can check there for tips, help, and advice.

turbos were on american cars before they were on any japanese cars
correct.. and neons were on domestic's long before they were on imports, period.

Those newer pics look pretty good. And I say do what YOU want to YOUR car. Don't avoid doing something just because other people don't like it.

Neons actually started on Semi-trucks. The truckers would use various lighting all over their rig to claim it as their own. It's pretty cool at night to be flying down the highway and seeing this huge christmas tree coming at you,
