OK...its that time of year--Senior Prom. I've had this idea in my head for the longest time...to basically pull up to the house of the girl who i want to ask, with PROM? written across my entire hatch window and like park my car on their lawn or something like that, and tell them to look outside.

Anyway, I'm trying to find something to use to actually write this on my window with... IIRC people use like shoe polish (or something like that), and i think my mom may have some of that. I've also heard of stuff specifically made for writing on windows with. If i cant use shoe polish, i basically want the cheapest thing that will be safe to use around my car.

Im not sure about shoe polish,i think you should be able to, but you can use window chalk. Its specially made to write on windows. The only problem is, sometimes its hard to get off if it gets on your seals, but since its on ur hatch, you shouldnt have a problem.

Oh yea, you can find it at walmart or craft stores.

I'm pretty sure they make markers that you can buy at like Wal-Mart that are for writing on windows/glass. Last year the night before graduation the girls in my grade got together and tagged the guys cars...

It wasn't too hard to get off...some window cleaner and a razor blade did a nice job.

This is gonna sound really bad...but how much you guys think that stuff would run me?

Seriously i can barely afford to pay for gas right now and prom tickets are $130/couple and a tux is gonna be atleast $60-90. ( Luckily my ride for prom will either be my uncles 05 NSX, 05 G55 AMG, or his 03 M3 )

haha...don't be ashamed, many people know...wait till college when it costs money just to go to school, plus books, etc. It shouldn't be more than what the change in your console adds up to.

just get some basic white shoe polish. it should be less than a couple bucks and obviously will be back in the shoe section of wal mart. my cars have gotten taged by it before and all it took was a little windex and a razor blade and it came right off.

thank god the chick i asked didnt write on my windows... she put posters and balloons all over it...i woke up in the morning to my parents telling me about it before i could even look out the kitchen window, i think they took a picture of it lol...oh god...and no it wasnt the girl i wanted to go with lol. I was one of those cool bunch that opted out of PROM(little bit of sarcasm there), just happened to mess with the girl who left her prom date that same night...and its the same girl who i have been with ever since that night...heh

just use shoe polish same stuff ud use to go to a track. Stuff comes off easy after a day or 2, but if left on for over a week or 2 and can be fun scraping off

I think it would have been funny if she would have woke up the next morning with posters and balloons all over her car saying "NO."

Oh yea and maybe "Dont touch my car anymore"

We took a limo. And not everybody's parents in CA have exotic cars. I would have loved to have taken a truck with just me and my girl.

I like how people think of Californians. Whenever I meet people from out of state the first thing they ask me is "have you ever seen any celebrities"? Or my favorite "Have you ever watched American Idol in person"? Honestly, i'm setting the record, not everybody down here knows a celebrity or goes to the beach every day.... and the show on TV "OC" is not how everybody here lives

Just thought I would clear that up.

We had a rally today at our State Capitol building, a rally to support a new race track being built since our only race track is being closed this month and we got nowhere to race anymore. Well anyway, we wanted to write messages on our windows as we drove around the building again and again. Shoe Polish is no worries, I've used it multiple times and I think thats what they used to use at our old track for the car numbers and stuff. Just apply and when you need to clean it off use a stream of water and a ID card or old credit card or something like that. Just scrapes off when water is applied. Have fun!

I agree. Funny thing is that Lisa Tucker, the girl that got voted off of American Idol last week, goes to my high school and will be on the OC later this month. Second, I do go to the beach almost everyday.

I guess I would go every day too if I was closer.

I could go to Lake Perris and swim with the dirty diapers and dead bodies...... yummm.

OK so i did it! Of course she said yes!

I used the stuff you get at walmart (glass chalk i think its called).

Biggest problem was that i started the P and the R like on the flatter portion of the hatch, and realized when i got to the O that not only did i make the P & R too big, but i should have started them further to the left. So basically the P and R are huge, and the O and M are skinny, and the freaking question mark is like barely on my window hahaha. Makes me look retarded!!

Either way everyone i talked to thinks it was an awesome idea and hopefully this girl will always remember it as being awesome! I'll try to get a pic of my ugly job tommorow haha

Don't worry...your at opposite ends of the country so its cool. Just don't make the same mistake i did and end up having to squeeze the letters in because it made it look like a 3rd grader did it. Maybe thats why her mom didnt seem to like me. Or maybe its just because she's a mustang driver haha!!

Congratulations on not getting rejected!

Moms never like it when guys that they don't know come over, and I'm sure that it didn't help that you were on her lawn.

Let's see some pics!

Actually, i ended up not parking on her lawn with it, as her garage door was open and she had a pretty big driveway, i just backed my car into a spot on her driveway where it oculd be seen and told her to do me a favor and walk into her garage. What made it kinda funny was that the previous day she had sprained her ankle playing softball so she crutched it out into the garage on one crutch (because he other hand was holding the phone which she was talking to me on haha).

I'll get some pics tommorow. It was overcast all day here and i was out w/ her picking out a tux---- (ivory white tux with like a beige/taupe/gold-ish vest and long tie)--- Now just to pick out which vehicle i'm taking. Uncle doesnt really want me taking the NSX cuz i cant drive stick that well. So its between the G55 AMG or the M3.

Also, Cadillac, i pretty sure that i'm going to penn state. I was leaning that way for the past few months but this week i pretty much decided i would be going there.
