Gas prices making u think of selling??

well i never thought i'd say this but with the gas prices the way they are and probably going up even more, im thinking of selling my car. i mean i love it to death but what is the point of having it when i cant enjoy it? today it cost me 35 bucks to fill up the tank with the cheap ****! right now im forced to ride my motorcycle even tho its fun and all but i have a long commute to and from work so i dunno what to do. car looks nice, has new rims and even wanna get it painted. but it sux that all i can pretty much do is look at it and not drive it. anyone else thinking of giving it up? i dont even take it out on weekends anymore b/c am afraid to waste the gas. i hate this feeling! u take care of something so much, try and make it look nice, but cant even enjoy it and u have no control over this situation.

Im sorry, but this comment is very, well, poorly thought out. The president has nothing to do with the gas prices, never has, never will. This has been proven time and time again, so quit blaming him for something he has no control over.

Thank you....keep the politics out of it, or it'll get sour quick

Gas prices wont get me to sell the car...MN has had the nation's lowest prices for sometime now (not sure if we are still lower than the national avg or not anymore)....but it's not nearly as bad as the coasts....I really feel for you all

....not gas prices....but med school fees - that'll be what does mine in

35 bucks to fill up my tank... that would be sweet. I'm looking at 45-50 euros to fill up my cheapo Opel. Nevermind the Trans am... prices are like $6 per gallon here.

Hi, i leave in france and i have a 1991 z28 camaro 305.
Do you know the price of the gaz here ?
It's 1,30 € the liter !!! so do the calcul, the camaro had a 70 liter gaz tank it's 90 € to fill it up !
90€ = 110$ !
The USA had a lot of chance for the gaz price....

Most people in the USA don't understand that even at $5.00 a gallon, we are still cheaper than most of the world. It does hurt because it didn't go up with inflation, it just shot up in the past few years.

Don't sell the car because of something like fuel prices. If you do, you will not ever own a car with raw muscle again, you will be driving a prius for the rest of your life.

I don't care if it costs a $100 to fill up my tank. I won't sell it, I'll just drive it less!

haha ya gas prices are rediculous. BUT not making me sell my baby! Instead i'm swapping in an LS1/T56. 25mpg shouldnt be a problem with 2 overdrives And I no i'll still have the itch to go fast so whats the solution? A supercharger! Drive around on motor, 25mpg, punch it and the blower takes over. Adding big heads and big cam will make driveability worse and gas milage worse so my vote goes to turbo or supercharger, maybe a mild cam and mild heads, 500-600rwhp is still achievable dont let gas make u sell it!

Best to buy two cars and only use the firebird during summer. Well assuming you got seasons. Even so thats what I do.

The sad thing is that the government will never step in and do anything about oil prices because they all get a kickback from sales and control of most of the oil in the world. Something you should all know is that if you look back and study, you will notice that 70% of the wars we have been involved in off of our own soil had to do with oil. Its something you should realize about our government. They want to have total control over the oil industry. And it is not going to just effect gas and oil prices, everything that is shipped by truck will go up in price. The everyday items we use everyday will get more expensive.

Hell no, gas prices are teh reason I bought my Z-28.....it gets 20-21 mpg in town, 32-34 highway as long as
I don't drive like a butthead. Beats the holy heck outta my truck (1987 R-30 4 door, 454) getting 6-7.....

You could always buy an Iron Duke powered fbody.

I'm not planning on selling my car. In fact the only reason I've spent any money in it (to fix it back up to tip top shape) is because it's a 4 cylinder and it gets the best gas mileage of all my vehicles.

It costs me about 25-30 to fill it up but I go much longer between fill ups.

When I bought this car in 1998, I never thought I'd really be loving the fact its a four cylinder.

I've contemplated pulling the 4 for an 8 on numerous occasions. Thankfully I never did.

There's some reading for you; now shut the hell up before you post some false bull**** opinion that has no fact to back it up - I know that it's off topic, but **** it if he's going to run his mouth and claim our troops are fighting for oil - too many of my friends have died already and it was not over oil.

I just leave mine under the cover and let it sit. I will only go to a few shows in my area if gas is too high. Ive only started my car once since last August and its perfectly running car(knock on wood).

Save some money and get a daily driver (even if it's dirt cheap). My daily is a 2.8 carbed, great gas mileage.
