I've made up my mind, as soon as I pick either chrome or hyper black I'm going to go pick these wheels up. They are 18x9.5 C6 Z06 replica's. Will I be the first with these wheels? Anyway, which would you choose? I'm kinda leaning towards chrome.

Chrome

Hyper Black

Also, these wheels are setup for an 84-87 vette with a 40mm offset. From my research this tells me I need 1.25" spacers correct? I'll try to pickup the wheels this weekend, and order the adapters. Also I'll order some tires. Hopefully will have pics by next weekend.

definitely go with chrome you'll like them so much better than the hyperblacks on a bright red car like yours.

i agree, lips are just sex.

Its amazing on new cars how much you really have to go to aftermarket to get a dish. I dont know why...

Stick to brushed aluminum type of finish.
Chrome looks like a cheap layer of plastic, like on toys. Make it look serious and tuff, not toy like hond-uh r!ce ****.... I don't understand the whole chrome theology, it looks C H E A P O!!!!!!!

They don't, I wish they did. I'd much rather these be in brushed aluminum, or even powder'd silver. One day I might have them stripped and powder coated silver.

Hmm.. I can only get the silver in 18x8.5 and 19x10. Looks like I'm back to chrome. I want to have the same size on all 4 corners.

Stock brakes for now This is the first upgrade besides a cat back. Slowly but surely(as the wife allows ) it will get there.

Ahh, the saga continues. I can either get 18x9.5 in chrome, or 18x8.5 in silver. So, it's get the silver because they look better and run a 255 tire, or get the chrome and run a 275 tire. I do plan a heads/cam/intake sometime next year so traction will become an issue. Can I fit a 265 tire on an 8.5" width rim ok?

check with TOMZwheels on ebay, he will let you order sizes other than what is listed.

Yes. Personally I am getting the 18x8.5 and the 18x10.5, and will be running 265/35-18 in front and 295/30-18 in back.

That's who I'm ordering them from He's going to call me as soon as he gets into his office. If he can get me a 18x9.5 in silver I'd be happy. Otherwise I'm just going to run the 18x8.5 with a 265 tire. I want the ability to rotate, and I like the same size look all around.

rotating is a lost art. Too many cars are running staggered sizes now. If you want traction you will need a bigger tire in the rear.

He's pretty sure he can get me a 18x9.5 in silver. That's enough for a 275 which will give me all the traction I need. I should have everything peiced together by next weekend and hopefully have the wheels/tires on early next week. I'll post in here once I have them on.

Ordered!!
Ok guys, the wheels/tires are ordered. I got a pretty good deal on them I think. 18x9.5 38mm offset with 275/35/18 Kuhmo Supra 712's mounted, balanced, shipped for FREE for $1432 total. Ebay has billet 1.25" spacers for $99/set so I'll get those also. I ran kuhmo tires on my datsun 260z and loved them. I'll post pics as soon as I get them mounted.

Where's the "Subscribe to thread" button? Oh well.

I just want to see for sure what they will look like. I don't think they go with the lines on these cars, but that's JMHO.
Can you get a weight on the bare wheels?

Good luck!

sorry man didn't mean to steal your thread or anything just wanted to give u a visual of the rims. they look real sweet in chrome and i got mine from TomZwheels also same one's ur getting. i'm not exactly sure if the 1.25 inch spacers will work, my 1.5's are very very close up front to the suspension. i used this calculation.....

9.5" / 2 + 38mm / 25.4 Offset + 0.25" Lip = 6.496" Backspacing

Rim Backspacing - Max Backspacing = Adapter Thickness

6.496" - 5" = 1.496" Front Adapter Necessary
6.496" - 5.85" = .646" Rear Adapter Necessary

i used 1.5's all they way around and haven't rubbed yet with a 1 inch drop by eibach...hope it helps

Lol, you didn't steal my thunder, I was just kidding about cancelling the order. Hmm, I talked with skulte about adapter thickness and they recommended the 1.25. I guess we'll find out in a day or two! The chrome look pretty good, but too flashy for me. Glad I went with just the silver. Thanks for posting.
