I'm not a giant fan of the stripes, but your car looks pretty clean and nice and the black wheels look sharp. I'd say, if you are attached to the car (as in it is the first car you worked on) then hold on to it and upgrade it so you'll have more fun with it. When you are older, you might appreciate that you didn't sell it for sentimental reasons.
Just make sure that if you do an engine swap that you set it up with all the stock LT1 emissions stuff for our awesome state of mASSachusetts.

Sounds like you are at a crossroads - first, If you are willing to sell the car, do you honestly think that the upgrades will cure your boredom with it?, are you really just tired of the car and now need a total new ride? - If this is the case, then perhaps save your $, don't buy the new parts and get that new ride that you deep down inside want. If you are not truly ready to sell, and are just entertaining the idea, (you are sitting on the fence because there is that issue of sentimentality), you have already sunk a pile of hard earned $ into it and in all probably won't get your money out of it, have seen another Firebird that had a list of mods that you really dig and may want to duplicate, or even you may want to start racing the car, etc etc.. then keep it and upgrade it.
From what you said - the car is now currently for sale, (and I am making an inference here based on others similar stories, including my own past 'car history'), changing the parts that you have suggested won't make the car that much different - it will still be the 'old' firebird that you have owned, but with a bunch of new parts. Granted, these new parts will rejuvinate your affection for the car, but for how long? - Only you know. For me, After a certain point of spending $ after $, there was nothing that would rekindle my interest in the car - it had to go, and off I went looking for my new 'must have'.
You may be at that stage where the 'hunt' for a new car (thirdgen or not) is what you are now after. Don't fret, change can be good!
Hard call.... People will offer you all kinds of suggestions

yep, i was bored with mine last year...so i bought new wheels
although i wouldn't get an LT1 if i were you. those are way over rated. if you're gonna do a swap just do yourself a favor and get an LS1 or LS2

Wow man, i was in the same predicament just a week ago. There were other cars (third gens) that I wanted...
Long story short, I decided to keep my car. Sure its a 305 TBI (not totally stock) but keeping your car that you worked on can never replace something someone else worked on
This is what I thought. Most of the third gens are a bottomless pits. Even if they are all fixed up, you'd still want to upgrade them etc... So you can either get another bottomless pit, or continue filling up your bottomless pit. At least you have made progress on yours.
Does that make sense!???
Enjoy your car and get some new stuff for your ride.
Mine just got fourth gen leather power seats, tommorow I am getting the whole car proffessionally tinted. New shifter, and new rear tires coming up. Have fun with your ride. Even the slow third gens are still third gens, those good looking third gens ... man I love em.
laters.

yeah im not really sure, and i would do LS1 swap, but im only in HS. my parents are really pressuring me into gettin somethin better on gas and more realistic for my everyday life too. being a 3 sport athlete its hard to keep a job all the time. so im always low on money and gas. and they think that a smaller car will help, makes sense i guess. but secertly im bored with it too. but i dotn now, guess i gotta wait and see what happens. thasnk for all the input

I like the car the way it is now I think it has real clean look great job, but if you want to upgrade go ahead, but yeah definenlty lS1 over LT1
LS1 recquires more money that i dont have much of or else id be doin that wihtout a doubt.
LS1 > LT1 > 305 so it works out either way
and i think im gonna go back to me regular 86 bumpers. i did alot of work to get them to look that way but with new paint i think a whole new look is in order
not sure waht im gonan do yet. kinda lookin at moddin an s10, some of those are pretty sweet too. lots of possibilities

The front cover is a 82-4 or, non-gfx model up to 90, with the fillers/grilles/bumperette openings (depending on what you had/year of car) filled in to make it smoothe.
If LT1 swaps are over rated than what does that make swapping gfx to cars not equppied or upgrading camaros to 91-2 gfx ?
If you are tired of the car... sell it. There are pleanty better rides to have.
It the price of an engine swap.. you'd almost be as cheap to just get a used 4thgen with the engine pre-installed.. no swap to **** with.
The only real selling point to these cars are the looks which... beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I love the look of your car. The flat smooth nose is totally unique. If you're going to buy something from someone else, do your homework on it and don't jump into it head first. Highly modified birds done _right_ in great condition do exist- I just bought one myself- but you have to be very, very patient and EXTREMELY critical of the car and the work that was done to it.
